- Chapter 831 Master Naeve
Article contents
Appearance
Debut
He was around thirty years old, handsome, and with eyes of an unusual, beautiful indigo color. Strangely enough, his black hair also seemed to possess slight accents of dark blue, at least when exposed to direct sunlight. This close, the feeling of mystifying depth radiating from the stranger was more pronounced, as if most of him was hidden from sight.
— Description, Chapter 831 Master Naeve |
Transcendent
Personality
Master Naeve is unexpectedly friendly and pleasant to be around. He was not at all like the arrogant representatives of the other great Legacy clans.[8]
He was more cautious than most Masters, which was understandable as the Nightwalker had a family to come back to and was carrying more than one life on his shoulders.[9]
Aspect, Abilities & Flaw
Most of Naeve's powers seemed to have to do with water and is introduced as an Ascended from a great clan.[10] He can effortlessly move through the water with great speed and ease, resembling a graceful aquatic creature, appearing more comfortable in the water than on land.[11]
When underwater he can ignore physical attacks by turning his body into liquid. His movements were swift, graceful, and flowing.[12]
Transformation Ability
In Chapter 2586, Naeve appeared as a colossal sea serpent, cutting the waves with the spikes of its long dorsal fin while accelerating to catch up with the titanic ship.
In Chapter 2608, Naeve assumed the shape of a colossal sea serpent. His immense size was such that he almost dwarfed Bloodwave's monstrous killer whale form. The serpent moved with astonishing, terrifying speed, not simply because of physical swiftness, but because water itself parted to let him pass and flowed in the direction he chose, enhancing his feral charge. His body was covered in beautiful scales that were actually formed from glacial ice. In fact, Naeve's entire Transcendent form appeared to be made not from flesh, but from various shapes of altered and finely controlled water. This gave the impression that the sea serpent was less a living beast and more a hydraulic death machine in the form of a mystical aquatic monster. His maw gleamed with a palisade of razor-sharp icy fangs, making his presence even more fearsome in the boiling, blood-stained waters of the Stormsea.
Battle Ability
The Nightwalker is an absolute elite among fighters, with long years of battle experience under his belt and a vast arsenal of powerful Memories stored in his soul.[10]
Naeve was a skilled warrior who used a long bone harpoon and a net woven out of unnaturally durable threads to herd and decimates Nightmare Creatures. Going into battle with the Nightwalker was both comfortable and effective. He was not comfortable fighting on land and his Aspect powers were limited, so can only do support that made it easier to kill their enemies.[9]
Naeve's battle style was much more complex, profound, and refined in terms of scope and sophistication. It was on par with the most intricately designed combat art Sunny had seen. It all came down to how his body interacted with the water and how the water interacted with him. How to arrange oneself to pass through it unhindered and how to use the mass of water to his advantage.[13]
Memories & Echoes
Known Memories
| Name | Chapter Appeared | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| - | 836 | Owned | A strange bone knife. |
| - | 1031 | Owned | A light armor that seemed to be made of black seaweed and a nacreous shell. |
| - | 1015 | Owned | A bone harpoon. |
| - | 2683 | Owned | The Memory appeared as a mass of translucent fabric that unfolded into a vast, opalescent net made of thin, shimmering strings. When cast, it expanded to cover a large portion of the sky and descended upon the ghostly ships, igniting them in multicolored, opaline flames that dissolved the phantoms and slowed the enemy's advance.[14]
This Memory was his mother's Aspect Legacy, a powerful memory capable of becoming exponentially stronger but at the cost of consuming an immense amount of essence.[14] |

History
Naeve's vessel, like Ariadne, was reassigned to patrol and relocation duty in the Antarctic Center due to the appearance of hostile titans. His last orders were to scout and secure the stretch of the coastal highway between Erebus Field and the northern landmass for the First Army's exodus to Falcon Scott.[10]
Erebus Field was destroyed, and their battleship encountered a tough adversary. They killed the monstrous jellyfish but suffered catastrophic damage. The vessel drifted along the coast, eventually encountering Sunny's caravan.[10]
In Chapter 1728, Jet briefly mentioned he became a Saint.
Childhood
Naeve's childhood was marked by distance from his father and the heavy expectations that came with being his son. He described how his father would appear once or twice a year, then disappear again, and eventually stopped coming altogether by the time Naeve was a teenager. Although he faced the expectations of being his son every day, Naeve never really cared about it.[15]
Eternal City
He encountered his father again in Eternal City, Naeve admitted that it felt like finding a stranger, reflecting the emotional detachment formed during his early years. Despite this, Naeve showed some lingering familial concern, becoming visibly unsettled when he realized he would have to break the news to his mom about his father's situation, and even considered letting his uncle do it instead.[15]
