- Chapter 2416 Can of Worms
Tyrant is the leader of the armed assailants involved in a bank robbery encountered by Rain and Tamar during their visit to NQSC. He is referred to with the capitalized title "Tyrant".[1]
Appearance
He exudes authority, controls his subordinates with quiet dominance, and is clearly the one in charge of the operation. Rain immediately recognizes him as a dangerous figure upon hearing him speak, identifying him as someone who understands how to manipulate fear to achieve compliance. He is also implied to be a Master (Ascended).[1]
Personality
He is described as callous and devoid of empathy, possibly even of basic human warmth. His gaze is described as "glassy", and Rain notes that something vital—like compassion or humanity—seems to be missing from his eyes. He is highly pragmatic, understanding that fear alone won't ensure obedience from a group of frightened hostages. Instead, he prepares to use physical violence as a tool to make his point clear, intending to make an example out of someone. Despite his ruthless mindset, he also demonstrates a degree of composure and dark charisma, shown when he chuckles and responds eloquently to Rain's sarcastic provocation.[1]
Aspect, Abilities, & Flaw
The Tyrant possessed a formidable Aspect Ability that allowed him to suppress the flow of essence in others, effectively interfering with their Aspect Abilities. This suppression made it impossible for Awakened individuals to summon Memories, leaving them vulnerable and limited to basic combat. June discovered this when he found himself unable to summon his Memories during the confrontation, initially suspecting it was due to enchanted restraints. However, he soon realized that the restraints were merely a distraction meant to conceal the true cause—an active suppression field created by the Tyrant's Ability.[2]
In addition to essence suppression, the Tyrant's own body was shielded by another manifestation of his Aspect Ability. His flesh seemed impervious to harm, shrugging off attacks from weapons wielded by Awakened like June.[2]
Trivia
- He recognizes Tamar of Sorrow by name and comments that her presence is a "pleasant surprise". He appears to be familiar with her status as a Legacy.[1]
