The unnamed Sleeper is one of the carriers of Nightmare Spell in Sunny's convoy in Antarctica Center who survived his First Nightmare.^[1]

Background

He is a local of Antarctica but went through the campaign in the Antarctic Center. He was with the First Evacuation Army that was wounded in Falcon Scott and shipped east with the other injured soldiers during the last round of evacuations.^[5]

Effie and he met while visiting her wounded subordinate in the hospital. As for why Effie doesn't know his name, it was explained that the man's name couldn't be remembered because it is his flaw. The father of Effie's child was the young soldier who had been infected with the Nightmare Spell in Sunny's refugee convoy.^[5]

History

He was a young mundane soldier from Sergent Gere's unit who was infected by the Spell and was outside the usual age for a Sleeper. He was in a convoy driving toward LO49 to rendezvous with the ship, Ariadne, when he slept through the meeting with the Irregulars and Sunny assuming command.^[1]

Reveal

The nameless awakened was infamous for being married to one Saint and father to another. Many people treated him with a peculiar mix of envy, admiration, and fearful sympathy especially considering his wife is Raised by Wolves and Little Ling had taken time to start learning how to control his Transcendent strength. Depending on one's perspective, he could be considered the luckiest or unluckiest person in the world.^[2]

He became an Awakened a month after the cohort returned from the Tomb of Ariel.^[3]

Trivia

During his time with the convoy of Sunny they fed him all the remaining soul shards on his first day returning as a Sleeper.^[6]
In Chapter 1421, it was revealed that he was the father of Effie's child.
In Chapter 1599, it was mentioned that he was married to Effie.
He, along with Effie, managed a large farm on the Supreme Memory meadow, which supplied Sunny with ingredients for the Brilliant Emporium.^[7]
It was mentioned in Chapter 2429 that he had done most of the building of his home with his own two hands.
In Chapter 2800, he appeared as one of Asterion's Thralls.
