Winter was one of the Ascended that serve as the backbone of the First Irregular Company. She seemed to be the calmest of the group.^[1]

Appearance

She has dark brown curly hair that was tied into a simple ponytail. The color of her eyes was blocked by a pair of polarized sunglasses. Her beautiful face was aloof and nonchalant. The sleeves of her bodysuit were rolled up, revealing toned forearms and a solid tattoo that turned one of them completely black.^[1]

Winter's eyes were entirely black, with pupils that resembled two drops of coagulated blood.^[3]

Personality

Taking a deep breath, she raised her bow and summoned a single, fiery arrow. Her black eyes seemed to become even darker still, and the crimson blood drops of her pupils shone with an eerie, ominous glow.

Winter's aspect combines powerful combat augmentation with an affinity to revelation. She was both a warrior and a seer. She had not missed a single shot since becoming an Awakened. It did not matter if Winter used a bow, a sling, a throwing dagger, or just a rock. They always struck true, but simply hitting the target did not always mean victory.^[4]

Her vast arsenal of enchanted arrows, which she accumulated throughout the years, made her very formidable. Master Winter was essentially a mobile artillery unit.^[4] She was sometimes called a walking artillery unit because she had numerous arrows in her arsenal capable of widespread destruction. As she augmented, her scope grew, and her Aspect ensured the arrows never missed.^[3]

Background

She knew Dale would get himself killed eventually. Back in their Academy days, there were six of them, and only two of them left after the Second Nightmare. Now that Dale is dead, she thinks she'll probably die too but has no regrets as long as it's for a good cause.^[5]

Sunny noted that she was strangely wearing polarized sunglasses even though they were deep underground.^[1]
Her sitting posture is so relaxed during an important meeting that Sunny thought she was fast asleep if she weren't the first one to salute to Jet.^[1]
Her tattoo is similar to Dale hinting that they were, or had been members of the same unit in the past.^[1]
Her dossier in the government database was a redacted version of the Awakened soldiers' files.^[6]
She was one of the legends among the government soldiers.^[7]
She assumed that when the Valor Clan tried to recruit Sunny, he would need to marry into the clan but turned down the proposal because the bride was unattractive.^[8]
