Falcon Scott is the northernmost city in Antarctic Center to function as the largest evacuation center.[2] It is the first and largest siege capital in the Antarctic Center, located close to the water. The port was a separate fortress connected to the city by industrial elevators, while the rest of the human strongholds were built away from the ocean.[3]

Description

Falcon Scott was not the largest city but was crucial as an entry point to the Antarctic Center and the heart of the region's infrastructure. Situated near the ocean, the city sprawled across the mountain range's foothills, perched on top of tall cliffs, with an independent port fortress at the bottom, surrounded by its own ring of walls.[4]

The First Army reinforced the fortress with a chain of industrial elevator platforms connecting the port to the city, allowing it to be supported by artillery fire from the city wall. Even if the fortress fell, the enemy would have to scale the tall, vertical barrier of the cliffs under a rain of defensive fire. The city's strategic location made Falcon Scott a vital regional strategic location.[4]

Structure

The alloy wall was at least seventy meters tall and surrounded the whole siege capital. Its bastions housed railguns that seemed like scavenged from decommissioned battleships. Thousands of turrets were placed along the wall's length, some aiming at the ground and some staring into the dark sky. MWPs patrolled the battlements.[5]

The First Army was gathered here and the city itself had been converted into a fortress, demonstrating the effort, resources, and ingenuity that went into building these impressive fortifications.[5]

Inside Falcon Scott are offices of the local government, and a large part of the complex is underground.[4]

Communications

There was a powerful communication array connected via a chain of special relays to Eastern Antarctica. The bandwidth was limited and mostly monopolized by Army Command. One needs to spend a considerable sum of contribution points to receive a small quota. Data packets were uploaded and downloaded twice a day, according to a strict schedule.[6]

Warehouse

Warehouses were filled with valuable Nightmare Creature carcasses, retrieved from battlefields and processed by the army. The durable jade carapace from the corpse of The Remnant of the Jade Queen was refined and used to strengthen city fortifications and the First Army. Parts of Nightmare Creatures could be used for crafting melee weapons, upgrading armored shells of MWPs, and powering exotic spelltech mechanisms.[7]

Dormitory Apartment

There were five compact bedrooms connected to a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom, with three of the bedrooms occupied by other people.[8]

Population

The city overcrowded with ten times its intended population, sheltered nearly two hundred million people after the evacuation of the remaining siege capitals of the Antarctic Center. They were waiting to board battleships and be transported to Eastern Antarctica, where the First Army maintained a semblance of control. One of the four naval convoys was reassigned to ferry people over, but the process would take time even with the massive vessels' capacity.[4]

The population is more than half of the population of NQSC.[4]

History

Falcon Scott is going to be besieged by an endless sea of abominations and the Irregulars' mission is to prevent it from falling for at least three weeks.[4]

Trivia

  • Falcon Scott is the most fortified, and the First Army has the biggest presence there.[9]
  • Saint Tyris is defending the North where Falcon Scott is located.[9]
