“ D—death... death is coming! Our blood will flow like a river, our flesh will fester and rot, our eyes will be eaten by hungry ravens, our viscera will become a feast for maggots! There will be no hope, no escape, no relief, no salvation... death is coming! It's here! ”

― Hel to Seishan,
Chapter 1921 Stuff of Legends

Hel, the Death Singer, is the last of the seven Transcendent daughters of Ki Song, one of the most mysterious and revered Saints of the Song Domain.[1]

Appearance

A petite young woman walked in, wearing a dark robe. There was a hint of innocence on her lovely face, and a strange calmness in her large, glistening eyes.

In stark contrast to that innocence, however, were heavy drops of blood falling from her slick hands.

Personality

She's dramatic and intense, delivering vivid, terrifying prophecies of doom, yet she’s also detached and nonchalant about the horrors she foresees. Her quick shift from apocalyptic terror to casual indifference. Though her words inspire fear, she herself remains calm and unpredictable, creating an unsettling but intriguing presence.[2]

Aspect, Abilities & Flaw

Despite her ominous appearance, she was not sinister. She was a haruspicina, a diviner who received revelations by inspecting the entrails of sacrificial beasts.[1] She also seemed to possess some form of authority over blood using it for offense and to boost Seishan's already formidable prowess further.[3]

Background

The Song sisters spent most of their childhood in the Jade Palace. Most of them had been anchored to the palace as Awakened after surviving the First Nightmare, and the rest would return each year for several months until the Spell called them.[4]

  • Hel was able to smell death which refer to Sunny in Chapter 2305.
  • In Chapter 2781:
    • It was mentioned that she wandered between the worlds, often crashing at her sister's Citadels.
    • Hel's prophecy warned that they would not die, but instead would be brainwashed and turned into obedient slaves, with their free will trampled upon by a wicked Supreme. She described their minds being broken, followed by shame, humiliation, and anguish.
  • In Chapter 2818, she appeared as one of Asterion's Thralls.
