June · Shadow Slave · Wiki

June is the grandson of Master Randall, also known as Vandal, a notable Awakened who served in Antarctica.^[1]^[3]

Appearance

He was quite a handsome man, tall, cold and with black hair and blue eyes. He had been known to get a lot of attention from women.^[4]

In Chapter 2281, Corsair now has a tattoo of a dark onyx serpent coiled around his arm, peaking from under the rolled sleeve. He is tall, with black hair and piercing blue eyes. He had chiseled features and an aloof expression, exuding a sense of calm confidence and lethal danger. Sunny describes him as cool, the one word he feels best captures Corsair's overall appearance.

Personality

Once a bitter cynic, June is pragmatic, jaded, and yet still capable of being awed by acts of genuine wonder, such as having his life saved by the miraculous flames of a living goddess, Nephis.^[1]

Aspect, Abilities & Flaw

Show/Hide Aspect Abilities

Received in	Ability	Chapter Mentioned	Status	Aspect Abilities
First Awakening (After First Nightmare)	Dormant (Sleeper)	2421^(Revealed)	Active	His Dormant Aspect Ability is described as subtle, versatile, and very useful, granting him exceptional observational prowess. His senses are sharper than those of most people, enabling him to notice details that others often overlook. When focused or under the influence of adrenaline, he experiences the illusion that time has slowed down—though in truth, it is his heightened perception and assessment speed that creates this effect.^[5] This ability allows June to observe enemy movements in apparent slow motion, giving him more time to plan and react with optimal countermeasures. While his physical speed is unaffected, the combination of his perceptual advantage, observational skills, and conditioning makes him appear to have unusually fast reaction speed and razor-sharp judgment.^[5] A notable side effect of this ability is June's unshakable composure; he has earned a reputation as someone with "ice flowing through his veins" due to his ability to remain unflinching and unfazed in any situation. Through years of specialized training, he has learned to draw out the full potential of his Dormant Aspect Ability.^[5]
Awakening (After first escape from Dream Realm)	Awakened (Awakened)	2421^(Revealed)	Active	His Awakened Aspect Ability allows him to slow down time—but only in a specific area and only in a relative sense. Instead of affecting time itself, the ability slows down objects, people, and creatures within a targeted zone. The extent of this slowdown depends on the target's power level relative to June:^[5] Stronger enemies are affected less.^[5] Weaker or equal opponents are slowed down more.^[5] Inanimate objects and phenomena (like bullets or explosions) are slowed down the most.^[5] The mental faculties of living beings are not affected, meaning they can still think and perceive normally even if their movements are hindered.^[5] June himself is not immune to his own ability, which means that using it recklessly or in close combat against stronger opponents could lead to his defeat. He uses this power strategically, such as casting it in the path of a bullet to sidestep danger or blanketing an area in slowed time to allow allies to complete time-sensitive objectives.^[5] In one example, after failing to assassinate the Tyrant, June plunged the entire vault into a mire of slowed time to give Ray time to cut the power—tipping the advantage in favor of the Shadows.^[5]
Ascension (After Second Nightmare)	Ascended (Master)	3005, 3006^(Revealed)	Active	His Ascended Ability was not revealed. He refused to tell the others what his new power could do, insisting that "true professionals did not reveal their cards". However, Rain found that explanation suspicious and felt that he appeared embarrassed to discuss the nature of the ability.^[6]

History

Recruitment

Curiosity led him back to NQSC, where he investigated rumors of an untraceable elite force that operated in the shadows—more elite and deadly than even the exalted Fire Keepers. This force was known only to a select few. After ruthlessly defeating all other contenders from a vicious and more than a little shady trial, June was recruited by a woman known as Awakened Kim. Those who break the oath of secrecy would be brainwashed and memories erase.^[1]
