Sun Prince

Sun Prince, is one of the rulers of Ivory City. He is also one of the Chain Lords of Kingdom of Hope.^[1]

Appearance

Chained Isles

The creature resembled a man made entirely out of metal. The heavenly chain had coiled around one of his legs, so the giant hung with his head down, his face rusted and severely damaged. His powerful chest was caved in and shattered by some titanic blow, and one of his arms was torn away at the shoulder. This was the creature whose lost limb gave the name to the Iron Hand Island.^[2] The remaining hand of the iron giant corpse was pointed at the Sky Below.^[3]

Kingdom of Hope

He is at least ninety meters tall, with a body cast out of solid steel, and nearly invincible. He is also not a living creature, so can't be killed by wounding or damaging his body.^[4]

The colossus has no expression written on his beautiful steel face, and two suns reflecting on the polished surface of his steel eyes.^[5] Towering above the island like a mountain of steel, he was cast in the shape of a noble warrior wearing light armor. The surface of the armor was polished and shone blindingly in the sun, while the rest of the giant was dull and grey.^[6]

Death

A giant steel carcass was swaying in the wind, its leg tangled in a heavenly chain that the colossus had broken as he fell. His chest was split open, and deep within it, a half-open cage in the form of a human figure was slowly turning cold.^[7]

Background

He was blessed by the Lord of Light and was entrusted with a sacred duty just like his twin brother, Sevras.^[8]^[1] The Ember Knife was entrusted to him by the Lord of Light and the Ivory Knife was given to him by his brother.^[8]

In one of Nightmare's dreams, he was tortured by his brother, at his request, as penitence for his sin committed, betraying the Lord of Light almost a century ago. In the end, he was placed into a strange cage that hugged his body and was submerged in a giant pit of molten metal. His flesh constantly burning and restoring itself.^[8]

According to Noctis, the Sun Prince came to him with an unusual request. He wanted him to erase the memories of where he hid had hidden the Ivory Knife and make him forget the request.^[1]

According to Kai, the Sun Prince is supposed to be a brother of Sevirax. Among the people, it is believed that his soul resides inside the metal colossus that guards the Ivory City and sometimes leads the Sun Legion into battle.^[4]

History

In Chained Isles, outside the second nightmare, his corpse swings beneath the Shipwreck Island, tangled in the chain.^[4]

The fateful meeting between the rebellious Noctis and the herald of the Chain Lords, the Sun Prince was going to end in how the Iron Hand island would get its name. The iron hand on the Iron Hand island was the giant's missing arm.^[9]

During the assault to the Ivory City, Cassie rammed the ship into the Sun Prince's chest. The chest of the steel colossus caved in and ripped open. From the wound, rivers of molten metal flowed and in its depths, a cage made in the form of a human figure was revealed.^[10]

Trivia

Sun Prince is encased in a steel monstrosity and almost mindless.^[11]
