Dire Fang · Shadow Slave · Wiki

Dire Fang is the vassal Saint of Song who had been sent to the Southern Quadrant at the start of the campaign.^[2]

Appearance

Dire Fang is a grim man of medium height, with an angular face and powerful muscles rippling under his dusky skin. He wore a sleeveless vest that left his broad shoulders and powerful arms exposed. His hair was dark and disheveled, like the fur of a wild beast. A thick beard covered the lower part of his gloomy face, and his eyes were harsh and piercing.^[3]

Presence

He emanated a feeling of wildness, savage power, and ferocity as if the world turned a little more primal wherever he appeared.^[3]

Personality

He was a savage and tremendously lethal fighter, and also an aloof and reticent loner. In terms of power, he was above Cormac, but below Tyris.^[2] He had a brutal personality and an eerie measure of control over his emotions.^[4]

Aspect, Abilities & Flaw

Show/Hide Aspect Abilities

Received in	Ability	Chapter Mentioned	Status	Aspect Abilities
First Awakening (After First Nightmare)	Dormant (Sleeper)	1197	Active	His Dormant Ability enhanced his senses, including hearing and smell that allowed him to sense vibrations spreading through the ground. Due to this he had no blind spots. He is able to predict opponents' actions by observing tiniest changes in their stances, muscle contractions, and eye movements.^[5]^[4]
Awakening (After first escape from Dream Realm)	Awakened (Awakened)	1197	Active	His Awakened Ability was a physical augmentation linked to his emotional state. The angrier he got, the more pain he felt, the more powerful he would become but he also seemed to possess absolute control over his emotions, allowing him to summon murderous rage while remaining cool-headed and composed.^[5]
Ascension (After Second Nightmare)	Ascended (Master)	1197	Active	His Ascended Ability was a debilitating sonic attack.^[5]
Transcendance (After Third Nightmare)	Transcendent (Saint)	1110	Active	A creature that resembled a towering, monstrous mix between a human and a wolf.^[6] Dire Fang's Transformation Ability allowed him to become a strange hybrid of a wolf and a man, with his claws, fangs, bestial eyes, thick fur. His inhuman rage, his savage bloodlust, and his primal might felt like one was fighting a Nightmare Creature, but he was a human with a cold, calculating mind.^[5] He possessed the body of a powerful abomination but fought with the skill of a gifted human warrior. Dire Fang used a blend of hand-to-hand martial art and knife-fighting techniques with his twenty sharp claws, playing the role of knives and a maw full of terrifying fangs.^[5]

Battle Ability

Dire Fang was a powerful and skilled warrior, known for his unique battle style, which was perfectly suited for his Transcendent form. His intricate, deliberate, and ingeniously applied level of essence control was the result of his innate superiority of a higher rank multiplied by the effort put into integrating essence into a combat style. His Aspect Abilities were flawlessly blended into his battle style was the benefit of being a vassal of a great clan.^[5]
