Rivalen · Shadow Slave · Wiki

Rivalen of Aegis Rose is one of the known Saints of Sword Army.^[1]

Appearance

A dashing man wearing a beautifully decorated suit of golden armor with floral motifs in the accents.^[1]

The obnoxiously dashing man had not changed at all since the first day of the expedition. The rest of them looked ragged and worn-down, covered in sweat and soot — but he was clean and freshly shaven, with not a scratch on his resplendent golden armor. Even though his hair was messy and wet because of the rain, it somehow managed to look purposefully styled that way.

— Chapter 1881 Leaving the Camp

Personality

A distinguished knight known for his gallant demeanor and stalwart character.^[1] He was not afraid of death as long as it was for noble cause, but becoming dead and using it to harm fellow knights seemed too vile.^[2]

Aspect, Abilities & Flaw

He possessed an Aspect that excelled in defense and terrain control.^[3] He can generate an invisible force field with faint contours resembling a grid of ghostly, interlocked shields.^[4]

Transformation Ability

Rivalen's Transcendent form is a towering beast with four stubby legs, a tough hide that looked as if he was covered with plates of heavy armor, and a single massive horn protruding from the beast's nose, longer than a ship's ram. It was a rhino.^[5]

History

Trivia

He was speculated to be the father of the young Master Tristan, who Sunny defeated in a duel.^[3]
Due to Sunny having a soft spot for rhinos, he found disliking Saint Rivalen harder after witnessing him transformed into one.^[5]
- Saint Rivalen's relationship with Sunny had changed, with Saint Rivalen showing more respect and friendliness towards the Lord of Shadows.^[5]
