Yutra is an Awakened rank individual affiliated with the Eastern Flame Legion.[1] He was formerly (release from Hunger Domain in Chapter 2737) one of the Awakened thralls of Asterion whom Sunny sent a team of Shadow Clan members to capture and bring to an abandoned factory in NQSC in Chapter 2733.

Appearance

Personality

He was regarded as an upstanding and loyal man. Although not powerful, he was described as outstanding within the modest limits of his talent and opportunities. He was a loving husband and father, a reliable friend to fellow Awakened, and a valiant soldier.[3]

As a thrall

The information he provided about himself during interrogation matched previously gathered records, and no lies were detected in his statements. Despite these qualities, Yutra exhibited absolute devotion to Asterion which he regarded as a greater good above all else. This devotion overrode all other values and principles. Yutra was neither immoral nor irrational in general; however, his morality and reason consistently failed when Asterion was involved. He was incapable of recognizing the unreasonableness of his thoughts concerning Asterion, even though he remained otherwise sane and rational.[3]

When questioned further, Yutra displayed brief confusion before producing improvised answers that aligned with his altered worldview. He possessed only vague knowledge about Asterion, knowing that Asterion was a Supreme but lacking understanding of how that Supremacy was attained, what powers were wielded, what Asterion's plans were, or what role he himself played in them. He did not remember when or how his devotion began.[3]

He repeatedly expressed concepts such as "togetherness", "communion", and "salvation for all", without coherent explanation. He was unaware of the identities of other thralls of Asterion and did not realize that he himself was enthralled. Instead, he appeared to assume that everyone naturally shared his beliefs.[3]

Nothing said or done during interrogation diminished his devotion. His mental faculties were intact, but his foundational beliefs and principles had been altered, resulting in contaminated reasoning. Unlike typical thralls, he was neither mindless nor directly controlled; he retained agency and believed his service to Asterion was right, despite his beliefs having been manipulated.[3]

He professed absolute devotion to Lord Asterion. Although he initially claimed that he would never betray his comrades, he confirmed that he would willingly sacrifice them if such an act were Asterion's will. He acknowledged that doing so would cause him great emotional pain, yet stated that he would not hesitate to comply. This unconditional obedience extended to all aspects of his life: he affirmed that he would allow his children to starve, kill his comrades, and abandon his wife if Asterion ordered it.[2]

At the same time, Yutra consistently expressed deep personal love and loyalty toward his family and fellow soldiers. In hypothetical situations that did not involve Asterion's will, he claimed that he would starve himself to feed his children, refuse to kill his comrades even at the cost of his own life, and remain faithful to his wife regardless of temptation.[2]

Yutra explained this contradiction by invoking the concept of the greater good. He described his personal love and loyalty as private and limited, and contrasted them with a higher purpose that transcended individual attachments. According to him, his devotion to Asterion represented commitment to mankind's survival and hope, which he regarded as a nobler and more important cause than personal relationships.[2]

Aspect, Abilities & Flaw

Background

He was described as a soldier whose disappearance was expected to draw attention due to his military status.[1]

He was kidnapped from his sleeping pod in the military barracks during a prolonged military campaign. He was held in a dark room, restrained to a cheap alloy chair. A runic circle surrounded the chair, preventing him from summoning his Memories, while enchanted shackles bound his wrists and drained his essence, making it difficult for him to unleash his Aspect.[1]

History

As a thrall

Yutra is revealed to be an agent of Asterion. He openly expresses a strong desire to serve Asterion, whom he acknowledges as the Dreamspawn, and states that serving him is his most ardent wish.[1]

During his imprisonment, Yutra was confronted by Nephis of the Immortal Flame clan, Changing Star, and Cassia, Song of the Fallen. He reacted with visible awe and reverence upon seeing them, appearing deeply affected by their presence. Despite this reaction, Yutra stated that he was unaware of the reason for his captivity. Cassia confirmed that he was telling the truth regarding his lack of awareness.[1]

While in captivity, he displayed intense emotional responses, including shock, admiration, and excitement. When accused of harboring allegiance outside the Human Domain, he responded with enthusiasm and openly affirmed his devotion to Asterion.[1]

Quarantine

Yutra awakens in a dark room with hazy memories and learns from Awakened Tegrot that his memory has been wiped due to a recurring mind attack linked to his work at a quarantine facility. Through a handwritten letter he himself authored, Yutra discovers that the war has ended, his family is safe, and that he is both a former patient and senior staff member at a prison-like facility run by Lady Cassia, where those afflicted by the mind disease are confined and treated through memory erasure. As he resumes his duties, Yutra escorts and observes prisoners, including a disturbed former soldier named Rit, whose delusions vanish after treatment, resulting in her later joining the staff with no memory of her past imprisonment. Over time, Yutra works alongside Tegrot and Rit, shares moments of camaraderie, and witnesses Lady Cassia's exhaustion and quiet resolve as patient numbers continue to grow. Eventually, Yutra himself assumes Tegrot's former role when Tegrot's memory is wiped, repeating the cycle. After further incidents, including patient violence and unsettling signs within the facility, Yutra once again awakens with no memory, this time greeted by Rit, beginning another shift that feels like the first—just as it always does.[4]

Buried Memory

Awakened Yutra was Cassie's former subordinate and the first of Asterion's thralls she had cured of the plague, and when Cassie encountered him in the government complex, she recognized him by his scent, breathing, and heartbeat, while he was surprised and elated to see her, respectfully greeting her. He revealed that after the quarantine facility closed, his life had been chaotic due to missing memories, but he and the others remained proud to have assisted her, even if they did not fully understand what they had been doing. Yutra also recalled that they had met once long ago when Cassie was only a Master, an encounter that had been very memorable to him, though Cassie initially did not remember it. In that past memory, Yutra had been standing in line at a cafe when he noticed the famous Song of the Fallen, Lady Cassia, whose beauty and presence stunned him, and he introduced himself as Awakened Yutra, mentioning his wife and expressing admiration, while Cassie spoke calmly and asked him, "How does one defeat an idea that spreads like a plague?" and then answered herself: "The answer is oblivion".[5]

Note: Cassie's brief memory of Yutra as a Master in Chapter 2772 hinted to this.

Trivia

  • He stated that he has a wife and two children, a son and a daughter.[2]
  • In Chapter 2737, he was returned to the Longing Domain after Cassie erased the Dreamspawn from his memories which first appeared a few days after the conclusion of the war in Godgrave. Since every minute of his life seemed contaminated Cassie had no choice but to erase all his memories from that point in time. Now he had no memories of the past couple years and came to his senses chained to a chair inside a runic circle.
  • He appeared in another one of Cassie's memories in Chapter 2772.
  • In Chapter 2917, he was seen with the other thralls of Asterion.
  • In Chapter 2966, Yutra, despite succumbing to Asterion's plague, defied his sovereign's command, his legs buckling as he nearly fell before being caught and supported by two nearby soldiers—a man and a woman.
