Overview

“ Ah, let me introduce myself properly - I am Wind Flower of the Twilight Sea. King Daeron, the Serpent King, is my father. Or rather, he was... considering that you are wearing the Memory of his crown, Sunless, he must have died by your hand. ”

― Wind Flower to Sunny,
Chapter 1449 Left Behind

Show/Hide spoilers

Wind Flower is the True Name of the mysterious Saint sleeping on the final floor of Aletheia's Tower.[1]

Appearance

She is a rare beauty with smooth and dewy dark skin without a single blemish, the lines of her exquisite face were soft and lovely, and her wavy hair was like glistening black silk. Her archaic robe was rich azure with vivid white accents. As she dreamt, her vulnerable, innocent expression was a captivating sight.[3]

Personality

“ I must admit, though... young man, you have rather poor manners. Not only have you intruded upon a lady's dream without an invitation, but you've also neglected to introduce yourself. I feel at a disadvantage. ”

History

Wind Flower had a deal with the Mad Prince and reassured Sunny that she did not sell her soul, as the Mad Prince only wanted to know about Aletheia's Island and how her father killed the Great Tyrant in the tower. In exchange, she wanted to know what had happened to Twilight and other human cities on the Great River and how the Mad Prince appeared wearing her father's crown.[4]

Sunny made an oath to kill her after the loop was destroyed and before the Corruption swallowed her soul.[4]

She had put all of herself into the [Dream Flower], turning her soul into a gift for Sunny to inherit as much power from her as possible. She must have sacrificed whatever Memories from her Soul Sea to make Sunny a terror before facing Undying Slaughter and Devouring Beast in battle.[5]

Background

Wind Flower of the Twilight Sea is the daughter of King Daeron.[1]

The River People named the island Wind Flower after the memories of the original master of the island, Aletheia, disappeared from the memory of the River People. They started calling this place after its current resident, Wind Flower. However, the name lost its meaning over time due to the collapse of the River People civilization. Everyone who remembered Wind Flower was gone but the person to whom the name belonged remained trapped in a dream within Aletheia's Island.[1]

According to her, the goal of the journey of her father and his loyal warriors who braved the White Desert and entered the Tomb of Ariel was to imprint their souls into the Great River so that when challengers entered its Nightmare, there was someone to help them conquer it. It was a gamble considering their world was dying due to being consumed by the Dream Realm. Despite their struggles, they failed to rise to the challenge of the Spell. Her father, the only Supreme, had no successor to turn the tide of destruction so he came up with a plan to raise an army of Transcendent warriors in the unique Nightmare, but this plan failed as well.[1]

“ So, you see, it is indeed quite ironic... the seed of Corruption was planted into my soul by the First Seeker, yet my father prevented my soul from being consumed by bringing me to the First Seeker's stronghold. If that is not ironic, then I don't know what is. ”

― To Sunless,
Chapter 1451 Forgotten Name

Wind Flower had been put to sleep at the top of Aletheia's Tower by her father due to a seed of Corruption in her soul. Back then, their people laid siege to Verge to destroy the source of the Defilement and conquer the Nightmare. However, after breaching the walls of the city and fighting their way to the Citadel of Truth, they failed to defeat the First Seeker. The First Seeker is no longer a living being and is now a grotesque mass of flesh contained within the Citadel, spreading its tendrils across Verge. Anyone who touches it becomes infected by Corruption. That was how she became infected. They had no choice but to leave their fallen behind and retreat.[6]

Trivia

  • Inside her dream is a tranquil, beautiful, and peaceful place on Aletheia's Island. The mist has vanished, revealing a green pine forest with warm sunlight, clear streams, and a flower-dwelling killing field. The stone bridge is empty, and no Nightmare Creatures are seen. The island seems to be a paradise. Her dream space seemed more solid and defined than other dreams Sunny experienced.[3]
  • She is the first inhabitant of the Nightmare that Sunny met who is aware that she is merely a copy of the real Princess Wind Flower, conjured by the Nightmare Spell.[1]
According to her, the goal of the journey of Daeron and his loyal warriors, who braved the White Desert and entered the Tomb of Ariel, was to imprint their souls into the Great River so that when challengers entered its Nightmare, there was someone to help them conquer it.[1]
  • She revealed that there were other worlds infected by the Nightmare Spell, not just Earth. It was not the first, but it will likely be the last.[1]
Their world was dying due to being consumed by the Dream Realm. Despite their struggles, they failed to rise to the challenge of the Spell.[1]
  • She was aware of the loop even inside her dream.[1]
  • According to her, Sunny was the second person who visited inside her dream.[1]
  • Chapter 1470, Sunny received a Memory, [Dream Flower], from killing her.
She gave Sunny a gift that embodied her last will and most precious, ardent desire. Wind Flower's entire soul had been contained within the azure flower.[2] It was the same flower the saint gave Sunny in her Dream.[7]
