Description
Third Nightmare
Slate
The slate for Wind Flower displayed neat columns of engraved symbols and a messy circle with frayed edges, resembling a vortex or cyclone.[3]
...The currents of the River are twisted and treacherous near Wind Flower. Strong gales violently assaulted our ship, as if trying to push it back. Desperate to escape our pursuers, we persisted, entering deeper into the mist. The surrounding waters moved in the wrong direction and with unnatural speed. It was as if we had lost our way and found ourselves near the Edge.
At some point, we were not struggling against the repelling winds anymore. Instead, overcome by fear, we were battling the raging tide that pulled us deeper and deeper, toward the source of the wind... ...For a few moments, the mist cleared, allowing me to glimpse the true nature of the tide. We were hopelessly caught inside a whirlpool of titanic proportions, which spun around a bottomless and dark abyss. There was an island hovering above the darkness, with a tall and magnificent tower rising above the misty cliffs. Terror grasped our hearts when we realized that the tide was pulling us into the darkness. Desperate to save our lives, we tried to escape... — Description on the back of Wind Flower Slate, Chapter 1393 Vortex |
The text engraved on the slate is a report from an Outsider who lived in Fallen Grace. He embarked on a journey to find out the fate of one of the last cities to which Fallen Grace still maintained a connection. The fleet managed to learn that the city had been destroyed and, on their way back, they were attacked by powerful Defiled abominations. Only three ships managed to escape, and the other two were swallowed by the vortex, never to be seen again.[3]
Without the mist, the place's had a striking resemblance to the Nightmare Desert, with its white sand that sparkled in the bright daylight, and the black cliffs that cast deep shadows on the beach.[4]
Escape Route
It was impossible to escape the island due to its powerful whirlpool. The whirlpool simply does not release anything once one is caught in its maw and no one is powerful enough to defeat its current.[4]
The only way to escape is to dive into the vortex, which creates a tunnel. The Guiding Light can guide the way through the depths of the Great River, which is filled with horrors.[4]
The inner wall of the pyramid was on the other side of the tunnel, but dangers exist there. To follow the inner wall was the only way to return to the Great River.[4]
Real Version
Aletheia's Island changed significantly, with the thick mist that had surrounded it once gone, along with the colossal whirlpool, and instead of floating in the air above it, the island was simply resting on the water. Upon arrival, the landscape appeared familiar yet unsettling, with towering cliffs and treacherous steps carved into the stone leading upward into a forest.[5]
The island itself was largely devastated, with no Nightmare Creatures remaining and only old bones left behind. The forest was ravaged and largely destroyed, with innumerable trees shattered or toppled by some awful force. Other notable locations had also been ruined or emptied: the Bone Graveyard had been washed away by the waves, the carnivorous lake stood empty, and the tunnels dug deep under the surface had collapsed.[5]
At its center, Aletheia's Tower had been almost entirely destroyed, turning into a forlorn ruin, with all the upper floors gone and the lower ones buried under the rubble. The top of the tower had been thrown into the air and rolled to the base of the hill, then far into the forest, shattering in the process, indicating that the structure had been completely obliterated, leaving only scattered debris and ruins behind.[5]
Locations
The hidden bay where the Chain Breaker had crashed served as the southernmost point. To its east were the bone orchard and the Hollow Butterfly. To its west were the hunting grounds of the Rotting Leopard. Undying Slaughter was straight ahead, to the north, and behind her was the Seeker's Tower.
... The millipede chasm separating the far side of the island, the abandoned port where the harrowing Vine Terror dwelled, the overgrown shrine that was like a nightmare within a nightmare, the inescapable lake which had turned red because of the gargantuan carcass floating in it, the deathly ring of black obelisks… — Sunny's crude map of Wind Flower, Chapter 1423 Lines in the Sand |
Blood Lake[6]
The inescapable lake which had turned red because of the gargantuan carcass floating in it.[7]
The once vast crystal clear lake became a vast plane of dark crimson liquid from a winged gargantuan creature. Its dark flesh was torn and mutilated, and many horrible wounds revealed its glistening innards. The lake itself is an abomination.[8]

Seeker's Tower
Also known as Aletheia's Tower.[10] A tall tower surrounded by a wide moat.[11]
The Seeker's Tower is a beautiful grey structure perched atop a tall black cliff. It is accessible by crossing a bridge. Its architecture is not menacing, unlike the Crimson Spire or the great ivory pagoda of the Kingdom of Hope but rather beautiful, airy, and austere.[12]
Passing above the moat would be as deadly as diving into the moat was lethal. Anyone who did died of old age. Also, the enchantment of the tower trapped some Nightmare Creatures near it so after destroying the enchantment, they were released.[13]
In the basement of Aletheia's Tower, where they found a small spherical chamber carved into the rock with polished metal walls and etched runes. At the center of the chamber was a large, jagged piece of black rock hovering in the air and exuding a sense of coldness, similar to the Estuary Key. The socket on the weathered black surface, fit the size of the runic gemstone.[14]

Background
The place called Wind Flower was not always known by that name. Its previous one was long lost. The magnificent tower mentioned by the Outsider from the Fallen Grace, was once a stronghold of a powerful Seeker. It was unknown if the Seeker had left the citadel to challenge the Estuary, remained there, or died a long time ago. The sybils of Fallen Grace knew that the citadel was no longer accessible, except for a familiar name: "The Serpent King." It was rumored that Daeron of the Twilight Sea, the Serpent King, had reached the stronghold and spent time there before returning to lead his people in the war against the Defilement.[3]
In Chapter 1443, it was revealed that the island might have been known as Aletheia's Island before.
The Seeker who once lived on the island is said to have left it long ago before the Defilement was even born. Only the Serpent King has been able to come to Wind Flower and return alive. Nobody knows where the name Wind Flower came from however Guiding Light continued pointing to the center of the island even after arriving.[15]
Trivia
- The inhabitants of Fallen Grace called the area the Wind Flower, but it was unknown where the name Wind Flower had come from, and no one had ever returned from it, despite vague stories about the area of the Great River.[2]
- Sin of Solace's apparition had been aware that they are in a loop.[16]
- Time moves in a circle on the island.[17]
- Cassie believes that Wind Flower is like a monster preserve, with many horrors hiding in the mist. Initially, it was only known that no one had returned from the mysterious island of Wind Flower. If these creatures or humans are trapped in the time loop, it is filled with abominations that have accumulated over centuries.[18]
- The loop in Wind Flower only encompassed a single day.[19]
- In Chapter 1423, Sunny went through more or less thirty loops on the island.
- In Chapter 1436, Cassie started to become aware of the loop.
- In Chapter 1438, Sunny had been accumulating knowledge of Wind Flower over more than sixty revolutions.
- In Chapter 1444, Sunny and Cassie took them a dozen more revolutions to enter Aletheia's Tower.
- In Chapter 1466, the loop was gone.
- At the final floor of Aletheia's tower, a beautiful woman in an archaic robe was fast asleep.[20] She was the source of terrible danger at the top of Aletheia's Tower, a Transcendent human, a Saint.[15]
- The sleeping woman with a radiant core, had a small seed of darkness at its core. It was known that corruption spread and consumed everything until there was nothing pure left. The woman may not be defiled, but eventually she will. But as long as she stays on the Island, inside the loop, she won't be corrupted, as time will rewind and erase any progress made by the darkness. The island serves as a sanctuary for the woman.[15]
Despite attempts to wake her up, the mysterious woman's slumber seemed to be eternal.[15]

- The location where Chain Breaker crashed on Wind Flower Island was also the place where the footprints of the First Seeker remained before she left the island.[4]
- Aletheia's Island was described as a terrifying pit of nightmares, a place so far removed from anything comforting that it was noted to be certainly not a romantic spot, the opposite of it. Despite its grim and dreadful nature, it had a peculiar effect on those within it, as it was remarked that being there made people prone to admitting their feelings.[21]
