Aletheia was the one who built the Seeker's Tower.[1] She was a mysterious sorceress and one of the Seekers.[2]

Appearance

Corrupted

Background

First Seeker

Reveal

Aletheia had come to the Tomb of Ariel where the war had never reached.[5]

She was a mysterious sorceress who built an island now called Wind Flower and for some unknown purpose created the whirlpool of twisted time surrounding it. She lived on the island for a while but eventually left in search of the Estuary. Her name slowly disappeared from the River People's memory. She found the Estuary, unlike other Seekers who traveled downstream. The Tomb of Ariel now knows her as the core of the Nightmare, the source of the Defilement, the First Seeker.[2]

Relation to Nine

Reveal

Aletheia, a sorceress and philosopher, entered the Tomb of Ariel and uncovered hidden truths about the Forgotten God and his children, who were described as the "Flaw of the gods." For seeking this knowledge, she became the First Seeker and ultimately the source of Defilement, but she may have passed on her revelations before succumbing to corruption. Using the truth Aletheia uncovered, Aemedon build a "trap" for the gods.[6]

History

There were unfamiliar runes in the wet soil of the Seeker's Tower. The runes seemed to be an enchantment but unlike any enchantment, some parts were not a part of the enchantment. The Spell does not translate them. They were not words but a code or puzzle. To solve the puzzle, one needs to be knowledgeable in runic sorcery. After solving, it was revealed that the tower was built by Aletheia of the Nine.[1]

Finding the Estuary

The entrance to the Estuary is stationary, but space in the Source is unreliable. It was no wonder the Seekers of Truth failed to discover the Estuary before Aletheia of the Nine, who had constructed her island in the image of the Great River. Sunny suspects that Aletheia's actions, constructing her island in the image of the Great River and creating her own time loop, were to learn how to navigate the Source which was not by accident.[7]

Trivia

  • "that which was defiled" was one of the Seekers and the first person who learned the hideous truth that the Demon of Dread had hidden in the Estuary.[8]
  • The story of the Seeker is somehow similar to the Thieving Bird, a creature of dreadful power that manages to steal a daemon's eye and becomes mad by one glimpse at what was hidden in Weaver's pupil. This is the same as the First Seeker, who witnessed the truth buried in the Black Pyramid and became corrupted. It suggests that people should not only be wary of Nightmare Creatures, but they also need to be cautious about what they learn.[9]
  • In Chapter 1443, it was assumed that she was the seeker who used to live in Wind Flower and left a powerful enchantment to protect the Seeker's Tower. It was confirmed in Chapter 1451.
  • She possessed [Fated] attribute like all of the Nine.[10][6]
  • She was tasked by the oracle to scout the truth and reveal the lies of the gods.[11] (Refer to the Vision)
