Ananke's Mantle 1341
1342(Revealed)
Owned

Description

The black mantle was not that mysterious of an item. The attire the priest of Nightmare Spell wore was mostly meant to serve a practical purpose. The fabric itself seemed to be a Transcendent material, similar to the Night Silk from which Noctis had once sewn for him as a garment. It was fashioned in a way that obfuscated the wearer's physical features and enchanted to be supremely durable, stealthy, and enduring.[5]

Runes

Memory Rank: Transcendent.
Memory Tier: I.
Memory Type: Garment.

Memory Description: [This mantle once belonged to Ananke of Weave, Priestess of the Nightmare Spell. She met the Children of Weaver in a nightmare and guided them across the perilous currents of time. Her wisdom was radiant, and her kindness was a blessing.

May she rest in peace.][6]

Sunny had written the description himself.

Memory Enchantments: [Enduring], [Concealing], [Tasteless].

[Enduring][6]

This enchantment made the mantle durable, resistant against the elements, and capable of repairing itself.[6]

[Concealing][6]

It masked the presence of its wearer.[6]

[Tasteless]
Enchantment Description: "Why did it have to be black?".[6]

The creator of the enchanted garment left an unusual message for no one in particular.[6]

Details

Sunny transformed Ananke's mantle as a Memory.[5]

Sunny noticed the weave of Ananke's mantle was much simpler than the infinitely complex weaves created by the Spell. The weave was almost like an open book. Sunny was able to see the intent behind various sections of the ethereal tapestry almost clearly.[5]

Bone Singer 626
701(Mentioned)
848(Named)
853(Revealed)
Gone[7]
(See Details for more info)

Description

A flute that seemed to be either cut out from jade or polished emerald bone. Its enchantment [Sonorous] was transplanted to Silver Bell.[22] It is an ascended Memory of the Third Tier; a flute carved out of a strange emerald femur.[23]

Runes

[Sonorous][23]

This allowed the flute to sing at various volumes. This was the enchantment Sunny had copied to the Silver Bell and the Ordinary Rock.[22][23]

[Silenced][23]

This allowed the flute to create a dome of silence around itself.[23]

[Sepulcher Song][23]

It can raise the dead and to activate it, one has to know how to actually play the flute. Additionally, the risen corpses would be murderous, wicked, and uncontrolled. The only way to command them and prevent them from attacking the summoner was to soothe them with a correct melody.[23][24]

The Sepulcher Song was an active enchantment that consumed as much essence as the number and power of the corpses stirred into a murderous rage by its power.[25]

The Memory did not return the dead to life. It paid no attention to the state of the corpse. It simply transformed corpses into deadly bone or flesh golems, allowing it to animate them without requiring a soul.[25] The creatures were powerful, but not as powerful as when they were alive. Still, the reanimated bodies retain their rank and class.[26]

Details

Received from fighting in the Red Colosseum.[27]

Covetous Coffer
Coffer
Coffer
Covetous Coffer
427
428(Revealed)
Owned

Description

Previously, it was a miniature version of Mordant Mimic. A box made of dark wood, with strips of iron on the lid of the treasure chest reinforcing it. It was about the size of a jewelry box, but not at all elegant.[30]

It changed after the second nightmare. It was now a big metal chest that revealed rows of massive triangular fangs opening its heavy lid. The Coffer was now large enough for Sunny to sit on top of it, using it as a bizarre mount.[31]

Runes

Memory Rank: Ascended.
Memory Tier: IV.
Memory Type: Tool.
Memory Description: ["You are very strange!" said Noctis. Why was his new friend so deathly afraid of chests? Why was he so timid and pale? "Don't be afraid, these are just my treasure chests. They won't bite. Well... except for this one. This one will eat you alive."][32]

Memory Enchantments: [Mendacious Coffer], [Capacious Chest], [Locomotive Chiffonier], [Lurid Trunk].[32]

[Mendacious Coffer]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory can mimic the form of any inanimate object. The size and intricacy of the simulacrum are dependent on the wielder's Soul Core capacity."[32]

Sunny had experimented the forms of Coffer into all kinds of things but not all forms suited the Memory well. Items that already had a storage function performed best so it was simply transformed into a large chest of reinforced alloy.[31]

[Capacious Chest]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory is bigger on the inside. It can be summoned and dismissed while storing inanimate items. The size of the storage space, as well as the maximum weight of stored items, are dependent on the wielder's Soul Core capacity."[32]

This is the ability to store items in the Covetous Coffer and the Coffer can be stashed away into the Soul Sea until needed.[32] After second nightmare, it could store an entire room's worth of items.[31]

In Chapter 1485, Sunny altered the [Capacious Chest] enchantment of the Covetous Coffer to store living beings. He borrowed a few elements from the weave of Effie's Supreme Memory but struggled to integrate a livable space into the chest's storage space. The chest lacks meadows, forests, rivers, light, water, and air, making it impossible to place a living being inside. Theoretically, he could hide his shadows in the Covetous Coffer.

[Locomotive Chiffonier]
Enchantment Description: [This Memory can move around and follow its wielder.][32]

Due to its new size, the chest could move around much faster.[31]

[Lurid Trunk]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory will protect itself against potential thieves. By eating them."[32]

After second nightmare, it could now swallow a potential thief whole.[31]

Details

Received from a Fallen Devil, Mordant Mimic.[33]
In Chapter 1473, Sunny considered making the Covetous Coffer into a partial Echo.
Crown of Dawn
(Former: "Dawn Shard")
1343
1348(Upgraded, Rank Up)
Lend from Nephis[34](Returned in Chapter 1349)

Previous Description

A simple band of metal decorated with a single gem, an Ascended Memory. The Dawn Shard possesses a single, but also singularly powerful enchantment. It empowers all Memories around it. The area of effect of the enchantment is very large but the enhancement it provides is ever larger. A Memory capable of rising the power of another one by almost an entire rank.[35]

The Dawn Shard's powerful enchantment empowered all Memories in its radius, elevating the Awakened weapons to resemble Ascended ones in lethality. The Dawn Shard could still empower Ascended Memories to a substantial degree, but nowhere near elevating them to an entire new Rank. The effect on Transcendent Memories was even more modest. There was no limit to the number of Memories Dawn Shard could enhance and it was a passive enchantment as well.[34]

Current Description

In Chapter 1348, Sunny managed to upgrade the memory rank to Supreme using the Supreme soul shard from the Black Turtle and the Spell change the name to Crown of Dawn.

The Crown of Dawn functioned similarly to its predecessor but with more powerful augmentation. Awakened weapons were elevated to peak Ascended levels, while powerful Awakened weapons reached Transcendence. Ascended Memories were elevated to Transcendent levels. While Transcendent Memories were elevated to Supreme. Supreme memories benefited from it as well, just not as striking as it was for the Memories of lesser Ranks.[36]

The meaning of "power" in this context is elusive, as the augmentation not only empowers the enchantments but also enhances the quality of the Memories themselves, making swords sharper and armor more durable, and enhancing the intangible, mystical quality of magical materials.[36]

Details

Nephis took this memory from the head of the corpse of the First Lord of Bright Castle.[37]

Crown of Twilight 1279
1288(Revealed)
Gone[7]
(See Details for more info)

Description

A band of black metal shaped and engraved to resemble a river serpent that appeared on one's head.[38]

Runes

Memory Rank: Supreme.
Memory Tier: I.
Memory Type: Tool.[39]

Memory Description: [There was a king who ruled over a dying land. The king was valiant and wise. Refusing to embrace despair, he thought of an audacious plan, gathered his companions, and braved the endless desert to enter the Tomb of Ariel, where the Great River flowed endlessly from the future into the past. Thus, the valiant king became a guide who guarded his people in their nightmares.

They built a city at the edge of dawn and gathered an army to vanquish that which was defiled. However, in the end, the army was destroyed, the city was lost, and the valiant king himself succumbed to madness.

Consumed by wrath and resentment, he turned into a mindless beast and roamed the Great River for countless years. Nothing could withstand his hunger and fury… until, one day, the mad king met a treacherous shadow.

"But what do you even know?" said the shadow. "Do you think you're so special? I know fury, too. I know hunger, too. I know madness, too! Oh… and I've killed plenty of creatures more powerful than me, too. Who are you to dare stare me down, beast?"

"I am Lost from Light, who was born from the shadows. I am the rightful heir of death and the bastard son of fate. Wherever I go, ruin follows. If you had any sense, you would have run away as soon as you saw me."

And, true to his word, treacherous Lost from Light battled the mad king, eventually becoming his doom.

That was how the king who had outlived his land died.][40]

The Spell seemed to like Sunny's speech before killing the Azure Serpent that it included his speech word by word into the Memory description of Crown of Twilight.[40]

Memory Enchantments: [Legacy of Twilight], [King's Resentment], [Royal Promise].[40]

[Legacy of Twilight]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory greatly improves the rate at which the wearer's essence is replenished at the borders between day and night."[38]

This enchantment greatly speeds up the recovery of essence at the borders between day and night, meaning dawn and dusk.[38] With the aid of the Shroud of Dusk, the [Legacy of Twilight] is able to replenish Sunny's essence reserves fully in the span of a single day. Half at dawn, and another half at dusk.[41]

[King's Resentment]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory grants the wearer complete immunity to mind attacks but plagues them with irresistible wrath instead."[38]

The enchantment grants complete immunity to mind attacks, but it came with a cost of being consumed by mad fury. It was an active enchantment, allowing the user to use the other two enchantments without going berserk.[38]

In Chapter 1510, Sunny activated the [King's Resentment] Enchantment of Crown of Twilight which grants immunity to mind attacks but incites irresistible wrath. He loses awareness of his identity and purpose. He aimed to destroy everything and everyone even when he remembered his True Name, it only reminded him of the tools he had to use to bring destruction upon the world.

[Royal Promise]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory infuses authority over water into the wearer's Domain. The extent of this authority depends on the might of the Domain."[38]

This enchantment Infuses authority over water into a Domain. When the user doesn't have a domain, they will still feel a faint, weak connection with the water and respond to them, still the water's presence was a wave.[38]

The authority [Royal Promise] granted to the Crown of Twilight's master was dependent on their Domain's power. With lack of a Domain, the power still exists but negligible.[38]

Details

Received from Great Beast, Daeron of the Twilight Sea.[42]

Sunny had received a Memory after killing the corrupted Sovereign. His first Memory of the Supreme Rank that he had actually earned instead of mysteriously receiving it out of nowhere.[39]

Gone due to not being a Nightmare Spell Carrier (Confirmed in Chapter 1758). Updated list on "Post Nightmare Spell" tab.

Description

A polished silver elegant sword with its blade showing a person their own reflection.[43][44]

Runes

Memory Rank: Ascended.
Memory Tier: IV.
Memory Type: Weapon.
Memory Description: [...Full of pride, the noble knight made a deal with the Dreamspawn. Years later, the knight had defeated all his enemies and became a mighty king. On the day that his son uttered the first word, the Dreamspawn came to the king and demanded his pay. He left the kingdom with the child and disappeared, never to be seen again. Much later, the young prince returned and stood beneath his father's throne. He expected to be met with joy and warmth, but was met with fear and suspicion instead.]

Memory Enchantments: [Shapeshifter], [Light Eater], [Ghost Blade], [Dark Mirror].

[Shapeshifter]
Enchantment Description: "This weapon can shift form between a sword and a spear."

This weapon can effortlessly switch between a nimble shortsword and a devastating long spear.
Sword form: An elegant single-handed double-edged sword. It has a leaf-shaped blade that was about as long as the distance between Sunny's elbow and the tip of his middle finger. The blade seemed to be forged out of polished silver and served as a perfectly clear mirror. The hilt of the short sword was made out of polished black wood, which was encased in intricately engraved silver near the guard and at the pommel. It was light and swift.
Spear form: A long, graceful spear. The black shaft contrasted against the silver blade, creating a beautiful and somber image. The blade itself kept its length, so it could perform not only thrusting attacks but also cuts and slashes.

[Light Eater]
Enchantment Description: "The blade of this weapon can reflect, absorb, and expel light."

This enchantment would be useful to control shadows, as well as potentially blinding the opponents

[Ghost Blade]
Enchantment Description: "This weapon can strike at incorporeal targets."

An incredible ability that gives the ability to fight against some of the most dangerous creatures in the Dream Realm, like wraiths that were immune to physical damage.

[Dark Mirror]
Enchantment Description: "Each attack of this weapon can be augmented with elemental damage. It can be charged with any element the wielder has been damaged by."

A permanent elemental augmentation. It was capable of augmenting its attacks with elemental damage. To activate the augmenting enchantment, the Memory needs to be fed with a small amount of essence. But its blade would remain entwined with the element of his choice until he charged it with another.[43]

Current Charge: Divine Flame.[45]
Latent Charges: Soul.[43][45]
The [Dark Mirror] enchantment of the somber spear had long accumulated a vast library of elemental damage types.[23]

Details

Received from an ascended reflection, Mirror Beast.[46]

Sunny received no shadow fragments when he killed the creature on the Reckoning Island.[46][47] Instead, it left behind a mirror shard that refused to reflect anything except for an impenetrable veil of darkness. There was also an inscription on its reverse: Beastie.[47]

Essence Pearl 974 Gone[7]
(See Details for more info)
(Temporarily given to Nephis)[64]
(Returned to Sunny)[65]

Description

It is a large and beautiful white pearl.[66] A simple Awakened charm that allowed one to breathe and see clearly underwater.[67][66]

It had two enchantments, one was to passively produce air, and the other had to be activated to gift the wielder with the ability to see clearly as if they were wearing a glass mask.[67]

The description of the charm simply stated that breathing was the essence of life, and beauty was its purpose. One had to be able to see clearly to appreciate beauty, and live long enough to enjoy it.[67]

To use it one needs to place it in their mouth. The strange effect of the Essence Pearl, allowed one to breathe through the nose as if standing on solid ground. An invisible barrier prevented salty water from flowing up into their nostrils, and the charm's active enchantment allowed one to see clearly through the dark expanse of the ocean as if wearing a diving mask.[66]

Key of the Estuary 1236(Appeared)
1237(Revealed)
Destroyed[75]

Description

A jagged piece of cold black stone, resembling the building blocks of the Tomb of Ariel. It had no features, runes, or images, and appeared like a rough, palm-sized chunk of stone randomly picked from the ground.[76]

Runes

Memory Rank: Supreme.
Memory Tier: VI.
Memory Description: [The answer is oblivion.][76]
Memory Enchantments: [???].

[???]
Enchantment Description: [???].

The enchantment of the Estuary Key is a passive one which supposedly should come into effect when the Memory is summoned but nothing happened. Examining beneath the stone's surface was a vast tapestry of ethereal strings. Although not the most complex spellweave Sunny had ever seen, the strings were lightless and dark, unlike the strings of soul essence that comprise the weaves of all Memories created by the Spell.[76]

Details

The new Memory, Key of the Estuary with unknown origin, suddenly appeared in his list of memories without his knowledge. It did not came from slaying creatures since he has not killed anyone since entering the Third Nightmare.[76]

In Chapter 1574, the Key of the Estuary, had mysteriously destroyed itself, as the Mad Prince had already opened the door with it.

The [Prince of the Underworld] had not changed except for the fact that the counter now showed a pleasant [6000/6000] as the number of vanquished foes.[80]

Memory Type: Armor.
Memory Description: [Vowing to never look upon the Goddess of the Black Skies again, the prideful demon retreated into the darkness beneath an unassailable mountain chain. He wasn't the first to lead his army against the gods. However, he was the first to shed their blood, as well as learn the secrets of his own.]

Memory Enchantments: [Living Stone], [Feather of Truth], [Stalwart], [Underworld Armament], [Prince of the Underworld], [Soulbound Relic].

[Living Stone]
Enchantment Description: "This armor can repair itself while being worn."

[Feather of Truth]
Enchantment Description: "The weight of this armor can be changed at will."

Both require a constant flow of essence to function.[79]

[Stalwart]
Enchantment Description: "This armor provides extremely high protection against physical attacks, high protection against elemental attacks, and a moderate amount of protection against mind and soul attacks."

The Memory offered better protection against physical and elemental attacks, but lacked the complete immunity to mind and soul attacks, possessing a moderate amount of protection against those rare and fearsome types of damage instead.[79]

[Underworld Armament]
Enchantment Description: "This armor can accommodate a Charm Memory to inherit and enhance its enchantments."

While Saint's armor could accommodate a Charm Memory to inherit its enchantments, the Mantle of the Underworld could both inherit and enhance them.[79]

[Prince of the Underworld]
Enchantment Description: "This armor grows stronger according to the amount of opponents its wielder defeats." (Growing Memory)[79]

The onyx armor can grow stronger according to the number of opponents its wielder defeats. The counter of the enchantment will still increase whether the opponent lived or died, all that matters was that the enemy lost.[81]

Runes

Memory Rank: Ascended.
Memory Tier: VII.
Memory Type: Tool.
Memory Description: [Weaver was known as the master of lies, while Ariel was known as the keeper of truths. The two were not close and rarely met, which was why Ariel was surprised to find Weaver staring at his pyramid one day.

"Isn't it beautiful, this tomb of mine? Have you come to admire it?" Ariel said.

After a moment of silence, Weaver responded.

"I have not known that you've built a tomb, nor have I ever seen it. How would I know to admire it? I just happened to be here by chance. Now that I've seen it, my heart is untouched. I feel nothing."

Then, Weaver asked.

"But you seem to feel too much, Demon of Dread. Your face is unsightly. You are smiling, but there are tears streaming from your eyes. Why?"

Ariel laughed, "I'm not sure."

He laughed and cried as he looked at the tomb, saying, "I built it to bury the truth. Truth is the most hideous thing in the world, Weaver, and knowing it is a cruel torment. I mean to bury the truths that I cannot endure at the heart of this tomb, and be free of them forever."

Weaver remained silent.

After a while, Weaver spoke.

"It seems to me that you already did. And you already are."

With that, the Demon of Fate turned and walked away without looking back.

Walking away, Weaver whispered.

"...You wanted to be free of the truth, so you didn't deserve it."]

Memory Enchantments: [Searching Reflection].
Enchantment Description: [Catch the visage of a being into the Mirror of Truth. Activate the enchantment to destroy the mirror and gain one power of the reflected being for a period of time that depends on its potency.][88]

This Memory is able to steal an ability from any being, including humans and Nightmare Creatures. However, the [Mirror of Truth] would be destroyed in the process, and the stolen ability would only persist for a period of time.[88]

The Mirror of Truth's surface showed cracks as it deteriorated due to borrowed Aspect Ability. A Dormant Ability could be borrowed for about half a day. It seemed that Awakened abilities could destroy the Memory in hours, while Ascended abilities would not last for more than one. Transcendent abilities could shatter the Mirror in minutes.[89]

When Sunny first used this memory to copy Neph's Dormant Ability, Soul Flame, his flames were black because it's the flame produce from one's soul. It burns him because he lacked innate resistance to fire that Neph's lineage Attribute, [The Fire], granted.[89]

Nimble Catch 974 Gone[7]
(See Details for more info)

Description

An Ascended armor of sorts because it looks more like a harness made out of a fisherman's net, which provided no protection, but allowed the wearer to swim with surprising speed.[67]

The description told the story of a muskrat king who had sworn to eat a wondrous fish, only to learn that it could only be caught by using the eyes of the monarch of birds, his brother, as bait.[67]

The only drawback of the strange harness was that no other armor-type Memory could be used while wearing it.[67]

The harness is made from a fisherman's net wrapped around the wearer's torso and can be used to strap a weapon to it.[66]

Puppeteer's Shroud 15

(From First Nightmare)

Description

A fifth-tier armor made out of soft fabric.[93] It was a dark-grey garment (clad in grey fabric and lusterless leather) that covered Sunny's body and came with pair of high, soft-soled leather boots.[94]

Runes

Memory Rank: Awakened.
Memory Type: Armor.
Memory Description: [A worm of doubt once found its way into a righteous king's heart. With time, the king was devoured from inside and became its puppet. A lifetime later, the Puppeteer Worm escaped from the king's dead body, leaving behind a cacoon of black silk. No one knows where it went; however, once people dared to approach the silent castle, they found the silk among the mountains of gnawed bones and fashioned it into an armor.][95]

Memory Tier: V.
Memory Description: [A worm of doubt…]
Memory Enchantments: [Enhanced Durability][85], [Doubtless][85], [Blessing of Spirit][63].

[Doubtless]
Enchantment Description: [Provides the wearer with a small amount of protection against mind attacks.][85]

[Blessing of Spirit]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory enhances one's ability to endure and recover from mental fatigue." (Passive)[63]

In Chapter 1473, Sunny managed to transplant the [Blessing of Spirit] from the Shroud of Graceless Dusk to the Puppeteer's Shroud. The original Shroud's [Doubtless] enchantment had to do with protecting the mind so the [Blessing of Spirit] was well-suited for it. It also did not need additional nexus as it already possessed five.

Shadow Chair 696(Mentioned)
848(Named)
Owned (Turned into a Memory)

Description

A beautifully crafted wooden chair.[72] It was the exquisite wooden chair he had borrowed from Noctis.[69]

Runes

Memory Description: "This chair was turned into a Memory by Lost from Light... for reasons unknown"[72]

The chair could be summoned and dismissed at will and even repaired itself while stored within Sunny's soul. It could also be fed to Saint, increasing her shadow fragment count by half a point since the single soul shard used to create the weave was of the Awakened rank.

Shadow Lantern 653
654(Revealed)
Owned

Description

A small lantern about the size of his palm, and made out of black, resembling stone more than anything. The frame of the lantern was intricately engraved, making it seem and feel like the scales of a serpent, and its walls were made out of glossy black morion. There was a small door on one of its walls. On its top was a ring of dark metal, with a short chain attached to it. It could be held in a hand or fastened to one's belt. As soon as the lantern appeared, the darkness of the night that surrounded Sunny instantly became deeper and colder, oppressive, and impenetrable.[97]

Runes

Memory Rank: Divine.
Memory Tier: I.
Memory Type: Tool.
Memory Description: ["Death is just the shadow of life," said the Goddess of Life. "And peace is just the failure of war. Have you ever been something that had not been stolen, made empty, and vile? Have you ever done something that was not futile and hollow? Can you even exist without being cast by another? Look at how weak you are, how small you are. Am I supposed to be frightened of a small shadow?"

Made pale and feeble by the radiance of day, Shadow laughed and rose from the ground. As he did, his figure swallowed the land, devoured the heavens, and blotted out the light of the sun. Soon, there was nothing left around them but darkness. And from that darkness, a hiss came, making Life tremble:

"Life is just the prelude to death, and war is just the key to open its gates. Everything you cherish, everything you nurture, everything that starts with you will one day be mine, be welcomed by me, swallowed by me, and find peace within me. This is the mercy of Shadow. Hollow… futile... you might have come first, my sister, but when your cruelty ends… I will be all that remains…"]

Memory Enchantments: [Gates of Shadow].

Enchantment Description: [This lantern devours light and can contain, and then release, an infinite amount of shadows.][97]

The lantern allowed him to carry an infinite amount of friendly shadows with him at all times. That would counteract the main weakness of Sunny's Aspect — most of his Abilities only worked within the veil of darkness to a large degree.

Details

Shroud of Graceless Dusk 1021
1022(Revealed)
Gone[7]
(See Details for more info)
A Transcendent Memory of Sixth Tier made of silk fabric.[99]

Description

The Graceless Dusk looked like a simple tunic of fine, soft silk the color of rich and beautiful black, with intricate patterns embroidered using silver thread along the collar, hem, and sleeve edges. The hem reached just below his knees, while the sleeves ended at his elbows.[100]

The tunic was tied at the waist with an unadorned cord of black silk and came with a pair of dainty shoes made of the same fabric, with a soft sole that was more suited for a well-tended garden than wilderness. It allowed one to move around without making noise.[100]

The black silk that the tunic and the shoes were made of was light and soft, but more durable than tempered steel. The Cruel Sight could not pierce the thin fabric. It did not burn, get wet, dissolve in acid, or suffer damage from any other elemental attacks. Only the Sin of Solace managed to cut the black silk with a lot of trouble.[100]

The tunic exposed the wearer's forearms, shins, head, and neck, while the soft shoes only covered the feet and ankles. The black silk was hard to pierce but did not prevent blunt attacks or concussive trauma.[100]

Overall, the Graceless Dusk did not make any noise and was extremely light, not constraining the wearer's movements. More importantly, the other benefits of the Transcendent garment far outweigh its lackluster defense.[100]

Runes

Memory Rank: Transcendent.
Memory Tier: VI.
Memory Type: Armor.
Memory Description: [Sybils were the heralds of the gods and conduits of divine grace. Many mysteries were known to them, and so were many truths. There was one being, though, who knew much more — the graceless caitiff, Demon of Dread. He knew every truth there was, because he knew everyone's fear... even that of the gods.

And so, seeking salvation from the end, the sybils abandoned the mortal realm and guided their people on a long and arduous journey. They led them far away, across the lands consumed by war...

To the Tomb of Ariel.

There, they found solace, safety, and shelter. In time, the voices of the gods grew silent one after another, leaving behind only a vast and dreadful silence. That was how the sybils embraced the Estuary, and that was how they fell.][99]

Enchantments: [Blessing of Mind], [Blessing of Soul], [Blessing of Spirit], [Blessing of Flesh], [Sublime Silk], [Blessing of Dusk].

All of its enchantments were passive except for the last one. The silk garment would improve the wearer's thinking and passive essence regeneration, as well as make one tire less and recover from fatigue faster. The wearer would also be able to communicate telepathically with other people or maybe even creatures.[99]

[Blessing of Mind]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory enhances one's mental acuity." (Passive)

The [Blessing of Mind], the strangest but also the most powerful enchantment. The enchantment did not exactly make one smarter or more insightful but it increased the individual's productivity by creating multiple compartments within their head. These compartments could run separate tasks concurrently as long as it was not too demanding. It made simple calculations and analyzing clear information easier and faster.[100]

[Blessing of Soul]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory enhances one's rate of passive soul essence replenishment." (Passive)

The [Blessing of Soul] increased the rate at which his essence regenerated.[100]

[Blessing of Spirit]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory enhances one's ability to endure and recover from mental fatigue." (Passive)

[Blessing of Flesh]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory enhances one's ability to endure and recover from physical fatigue." (Passive)

The [Blessing of Flesh] and the [Blessing of Spirit] made one tire much slower, both mentally and physically, while the time one needed to recover from fatigue was drastically cut.[100]

[Sublime Silk]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory is woven out of sublime, mystical silk. It is impervious and possesses a beautiful splendor." (Passive)

[Blessing of Dusk]
Enchantment Description: "This Memory carries the blessing of Dusk, last sybil of the Estuary. The wearer can establish a mental connection with another being to hear their voice and thoughts, or make their own be heard." (Active)

This can cause savage mental shock to people.[99]

The [Blessing of Dusk] is an insidious active enchantment that allows one to establish telepathic connections with others through words and other more crude means of sharing information such as emotions and vague images. However, one cannot simply read their mind, as the communication must be intentional. The recipients of the link are unable to refuse it, and the wearer can bombard them with gruesome and loud thoughts, causing something akin to a mental shock. This effect affects those with weaker minds, while those with resilience and discipline were at least bound to be disoriented.[100]

The effect of the enchantment does not affect Shadow Saint as she was immune to mind attacks.[100]

Siege Souvenir 1026(Mentioned)
1030(Revealed,
Turned into a Memory)
Destroyed[102]

Description

A very lengthy and sharp javelin. It was about three meters long, incredibly heavy, and entirely white. A sense of immense, wild, destructive power radiated from the white javelin. The long javelin possessed only two enchantments.[103]

The first one was [Death Dealer], which Sunny had copied from Morgan's Warbow. It is the vastest and most difficult enchantment he had learned and recreated before. It is also the most destructive single-target enchantment in his arsenal that consumes an extremely gluttonous amount of essence.[103]

The second enchantment he had bestowed on the Siege Souvenir had no name because he invented it, which required him to teach himself an entirely new facet of weaving, to disassemble and modify an existing enchantment, a feat he had never done before.[103]

Its basis is the enchantment of the Midnight Shard, [Unbroken]. As long as the wielder refused to surrender and kept fighting against overwhelming odds, it allowed the wielder access to a vast reservoir of power when at death's doorstep. He was most interested in the reservoir itself.[103]

Sunny created a power reservoir for the [Death Dealer] by studying the weave of the [Unbroken], to understand its function and isolate the desired effect. He created a white javelin, longer and heavier than an arrow, with the help of the Graceless Dusk. It possessed the same devastating force as an arrow sent flying with the help of the Death Dealer but at a much greater scale. To achieve this, Sunny enchanted the Siege Souvenir to possess an independent reservoir of essence and siphoned a sea of it into the javelin.[103]

The Siege Souvenir was bound to be a one-time use Memory. The Corrupted Devil's quill was not going to withstand the release of its own destructive power.[103] This memory plunged right between the Goliath's three pupils.[102]

Sin of Solace 867
869(Revealed)
Destroyed (Consumed by Onyx Saint)[105]

Description

A Transcendent Memory of the Fifth Tier.[106] [Sin of Solace] was the third Transcendent Memory Sunny had received. It is also a weapon.[107]

A beautiful Shuang Shou Jian, a straight, thin double-edged greatsword with a narrow guard and a graceful blade that gradually tapered to a sharp tip. It was as light as a feather. Its hilt was carved out of black obsidian, and the blade itself was stark white, with beautiful patterns etched on it. Despite the description of the [Perfect Jade] enchantment, it did not seem rigid as a stone; instead, it was both hard and flexible in perfect proportion. As soon as Sunny touched the cool obsidian hilt, it was as though someone whispered into his ear and continued to flow from somewhere just out of reach, too quiet to discern any words.[107]

Runes

Memory Rank: Transcendent.

[Sinister Whisper]

[Omen of Dread]
Enchantment Description: "A faint remnant of Ariel's presence lingers on this blade, striking terror into the hearts of all beings.

A passive mental attack enchantment that affects an area.[107]

Memory Description: [Born in the all-consuming darkness, seven valiant heroes made an oath to return light to the cursed land. Time has erased their names and their faces, but the memory of the defiant oath still remains.][109]

Runes

Memory Rank: Transcendent.
Memory Tier: III.
Memory Type: Charm.
Memory Description: [...a great river was contained within it, flowing endlessly from the future into the past. When doom came, many entered to seek shelter from it, and many had come to seek the truth. That was because the Great River existed outside time, and so, it was said that a dreadful secret was hidden at its estuary. Few of those capable dared to approach it, and none of those who had returned.][10]

Enchantments: [Echoing Silence], [Word of Power].

[Echoing Silence]
Enchantment Description: "When wearing this charm, the physical power of its master is augmented... but only as long as they remain silent. The longer their silence lasts, uninterrupted, the greater the boon of power they'll receive.[10]

A comprehensive physical boost that would gradually develop as long as the person wearing the charm did not talk or used their voice in any way, whether it was to yell, laugh, or groan. The stretch of silence had to be uninterrupted, which meant that if the condition was broken or the charm was dismissed, the augmentation would be reset.[10]

[Word of Power]
Enchantment Description: "A word spoken by the master of this charm is a command. If born of great silence, the word of power can hardly be ignored. If not, it has no worth."[10]

Its compelling power depended on how long the wearer had remained silent before uttering the command.[10]

Runes

Memory Rank: Ascended.
Memory Tier: II.
Memory Type: Weapon.
Memory Description: [A powerful spirit was once trapped in a glass bottle for a thousand years. This lightning is a manifestation of his rage.]

Memory Enchantments: [Caged Lightning].
Enchantment Description: [This arrow strikes as fast as a bolt of lightning, and chains its devastating damage to several nearby creatures.]

The arrow's single enchantment was an active one and required a lot of essence to access, which means it couldn't be used often. But the effect was very good as it was able to deal damage to groups of enemies.[53]

Tower shield 109(Appeared) Destroyed (Consumed by Stone Saint)[111]

It was a large, square tower shield that was almost as tall as Sunny.

Details

Received the Memory after slaying a particularly hardy wraith, an Awakened Monster.[74]
Undying Chain
Undying Chain
Undying Chain
Undying Chain
521 Destroyed[112](See Details for more info) A transcendent armor.

Description

A slender metal armor forged out of lusterless, bleak steel that covered almost the entire body with few gaps between the fitted steel plates. Underneath it showed a thin, but incredibly strong chain mail.
The helmet looked like a featureless mask, with only several vertical lines cut into it to provide a decent level of visibility.
A piece of black cloth wrapped around the waist, held in place by a wide belt fashioned out of dark leather, as well as a hood that provided additional protection to his head and neck.
The armor didn't seem very heavy, and neither did it restrict mobility by much. The design was so intricate, and the steel plates fitted so perfectly to the body that it felt like a second layer of skin cast of impenetrable steel.[113]

Runes

Memory Rank: Transcendent.[114]
Memory Tier: III.[114]
Memory Type: Armor.[114]

Memory Description: [In a beautiful tower at the end of the world, desire was bound by seven brilliant shackles. She was meant to be chained there forever, and so her shackles were made eternal. Yet in the end, desire was unleashed upon the world. Her shackles were destroyed, and the will of the gods was broken.][113]

This memory he had received from killing Solvane or the Wormvine had seemingly nothing to do with the description. Instead, the desire it spoke about was a daemon, the Demon of Hope, who had been once chained in the Ivory Tower.[113]

Memory Enchantments: [Chains of Longing], [Brilliant Will], [Undying].[113]

[Chains of Longing]
Enchantments Description: "This armor provides the wearer with high protection against mind attacks."[113]

[Brilliant Will]
Enchantments Description: "This armor becomes stronger when worn by those of divinity."[113]

An overall enhancement based on how high the wearer's divine affinity was. This means that a random Awakened would not receive any augmentation to the resilience of their armor, while someone with the [Mark of Divinity] Attribute would receive a decent amount.[113]

[Undying]
Enchantment Description: "The wearer can not die."[113]

An active enchantment that required an ocean of soul essence to sustain.[113] This enchantment was used twice before the memory was destroyed:

  • When Sunny cut off his head in the Red Colosseum[115]
  • Kicked by a Fallen Titan, Goliath[116]

Details

Received from Corrupted Monster — Wormvine, and Transcendent human — Solvane.[117]

Destruction: Undying Chain had held out long enough for the Dying Wish's healing power to pull Sunny back from the brink of death, refusing to succumb to the terrible damage brought by Goliath before he was safely on his way to healing.[112]

Description

A mask of black lacquered wood carved to resemble the face of a ferocious demon. Its teeth bared with four fangs protruding from its mouth. There were three twisted horns rising from it like a crown. Inside the black chasm of its eyes was nothing but pure darkness.[121][122]

Runes

Memory Rank: Divine.
Memory Tier: VII.
Memory Type: Tool.
Memory Description: [Weaver believed that knowledge was the origin of power and so always hid behind numerous lies, wearing them as a mantle. No one knew Weaver's thoughts, Weaver's face, and Weaver's heart. Even the gods could not see what hid behind the mask.][121]

Memory Enchantments: [Mantle of Lies], [Where is my eye?], [Simple Trick].

Enchantment: [Mantle of Lies].
Enchantment Description: [Hides the identity of its master.]

Weaver's Mask could protect the identity of the wearer from all who would wish to learn it through magic, but it can't protect from mundane forms of identification.[123][81]

Enchantment: [???] → [Where is my eye?]
Enchantment Description: "Helps the wielder peer into the tapestry of Fate."(Active enchantment)

This enchantment was somehow connected to eyes, vision, and sight.[79] Activating this enchantment, Sunny could see the Strings of Fate. This terrifying enchantment not only allowed him to see the tapestry of Fate but also forced the understanding of it onto him. The knowledge of everything, everywhere, all at once. Such knowledge though was too much for any human to endure. Just the tiniest, infinitesimal amount of it was enough to instantly destroy any living being. Maybe except for a god or daemon.[124]

Just for a single moment of activating this enchantment, Sunny's reserve of shadow essence was sucked dry.[124]

Enchantment: [Simple Trick].
Enchantment Description: [Reverses the effect of one's Flaw.]

Details

It was worn by a corpse trap inside the Black Door that can only be opened by the mysterious key he got from the Lord of the Dead.

Reveal

After Sunny was banished from the Nightmare Spell, he could no longer access the tools, such as Memories and Echoes from enemies. Most of his Memories have disappeared, leaving only a few remaining.[129] The pattern in some of his Memories remained while others seemed to have been destroyed. The Memories he could summon were his personally created or modified ones and his two Divine Memories.[129]

Details

The Memory Sunny created was quite human, entirely expressionless, and eerie compared to Weaver's mask, which resembled a demon's face. Also, it is not as comfortable as Weaver's Mask.[133]

After returning from the mirror maze beneath Bastion, Sunny worked on crafting a special Memory for the third avatar. He couldn't reproduce the [Mantle of Lies] as the Weaver's Mask was a Divine Memory. However, he could create a Memory which he lazily named "Definitely Not Me". It was a knock-off Weaver's Mask using an alteration of the Nebulous Mantle's enchantments and Autumn Leaf. This kept the Lord of Shadows a mystery, with his voice, height, hair color, and mystical traits either hidden or distorted.[134]

In Chapter 1870, Sunny shaped the lesser Memory to resemble Weaver's Mask.
Curse 2572 Destroyed (Binded the relic)[135]

Details

Curse is a Shadowbound charm forged by Sunny for himself in the ruined cathedral of the Dark City. It was created from seven black iron rings that had once been part of the chain used to bind Hope.[136]

Forging the Curse was a difficult task, but the greater challenge lay in imagining what the shadowbound Memory needed to become. From the beginning, Sunny knew that it had to be a charm. The [Underworld Armament] enchantment of the Jade Mantle, which enhanced any charm slotted into the soulbound armor, had long remained unused.[137]
Don't Cut Yourself 1961 Given to Rain[130] (Creation)

Details

Its arrow and arrowhead were green, forged from the same metal as the [Beast of Prey] and [Green Canteen]. The arrow was meant to kill as it carried a deadly toxin that infected the blood of those pierced by its sharp arrowhead. The longer the master fed the enchantment with essence, the more poisoned the enemy became, making it an ideal weapon for those facing powerful enemies.[138]

He carved the amber into the shape of a simple star, intending for it to help him kill the Snow Tyrant inside Ariel's Game. The charm was meant to be a gift for Saint, who had gone too long without a powerful charm for her Underworld Armament. Sunny wanted to make sure the Evening Star was worthy of her.[141]

Heavy Blow 1961 Given to Rain[130] (Creation)

Details

An arrow Memory. It had a grey fletching, and an arrowhead forged from dull metal. It was an improved version of the [Burden of Peace], one of the enchantments of [Morgan's Warbow]. It was meant to slow powerful enemies down. Once the arrow pierces the flesh of the enemy, its master can pour out their essence, making the arrow heavier as more essence is spent.[138]

In Case of Emergency 1961 Given to Rain[130] (Creation)

Description

It was a long strip of black silk with subtle embroidery, wearable as a sash or scarf. Sunny designed it as a safeguard against the searing radiance of the white abyss over Godgrave. With a mental command, it could render the wearer motionless. It was crafted to consume less essence than an Awakened could naturally replenish, allowing it to function passively.[138]

Details

[Ananke's Mantle] was modified and renamed to [Nebulous Mantle]. It allows him to live in Bastion, pretending to be a mere Master and avoid complications if people find out he's a Saint.[132] It could hide his presence but it was nowhere nearly as potent at deflecting divination.[142]
Outskirts at Noon 1961 Given to Rain[130] (Creation)

Description

An arrow Memory. Its fletching was white, and its arrowhead was carved out from a shard of bone Sunny had picked up in Godgrave. It was a powerful arrow designed to debilitate a strong enemy insidiously. The enchantment was Sunny's original creation inspired by the [Blessing of Dusk] from the [Shroud of Graceless Dusk]. Sunny stored a mental copy of his disorientation experienced after enveloping the outskirts of NQSC with his shadow sense for the first time. Once the arrow pierces, it will project a terrible cacophony of sensations into the victim's mind meant to cause sensory overload. The master of the arrow could continue to expend essence to sustain the disorienting effect.[138]

A defensive charm Memory which looked quite unassuming. It was a polished piece of volcanic glass hanging on a leather cord with a powerful charm that could passively provide moderate resistance to elemental attacks or offer high protection if used actively. The master can limit the scope of active resistances, enhancing them further. The charm can also cool or warm the wielder in extreme weather conditions. Sunny named it [Pièce de Résistance], he had no idea what it meant exactly but it sounded fancy and vaguely fitting.[138]

Details

Sunny crafted the staff in Jet's garden as the vessel for the mysterious spellweave hidden in the stars of the Night Garden's dream. To form the weave, he used strings of shadow essence and anchored it with soul shards of sea monsters that Jet and Nightmare hunted for him. Since the pattern required a container, Sunny fashioned a staff from a long branch of a sacred tree that Jet had transplanted into her garden. These sacred trees, though young, were children of the tree growing on the Chain Breaker and possessed resilient, mystical wood capable of holding a powerful enchantment. When completed, the staff appeared simple and wooden, yet contained the vast intricacy of Weaver's hidden spell. Despite Jet's concern about its potential danger, Sunny activated the staff, causing countless stars in the night sky to explode rather than the Night Garden itself.[145]

Sunny held a wooden staff in his hand, which continuously consumed his essence as it maintained the mysterious enchantment. While the drain would have been unsustainable when he was a Saint, as a Supreme it no longer posed a problem, since his reserves replenished almost instantly. The staff carried an enchantment left behind by Weaver, one that manifested in the sky above by altering constellations — making some stars vanish while others burned brighter. Although its exact purpose was unclear at first, it seemed to be connected to navigation of the Stormsea, a realm where space behaved unnaturally and only the stars could serve as guides. Sunny suspected that it pointed toward the fragment of Weaver's lineage he was searching for.[146]

Reveal

Sunny returned to the Nightmare Spell after killing the Vile Thieving Bird and reclaiming his fate, which reintegrated into the very foundation of his being. He felt a familiar weight take root at his core, reconnecting all parts of himself into an unbroken whole and restoring the sense of being himself. His return was confirmed when he heard the voice of the Nightmare Spell declare: [You have slain the Vile Thieving Bird] and [Welcome back to the Nightmare Spell, Lost from Light.]. The Spell further confirmed his restoration by addressing him with his True Name and resuming its system of recognition and rewards, granting him a Memory and notifying him that his shadow grows stronger.[147]
