Article contents
The First Irregular Company is not tied to any existing battalion, regiment, or division. They will not be supporting or leading any of the grunt soldiers. Instead, they will act as elite irregulars.[1]
The First Irregular Company has the priority right to recruit forty-two elite Awakened fighters that have been transferred to the Northern Quadrant port, six per cohort.[2]
Members
Each of them will be in charge of a cohort of some of the best Awakened warriors in the government. The cohorts will act semi-independently and respond to any overwhelming obstacle that threatens to slow down the evacuation. Whenever the mundane soldiers or their Awakened counterparts encounter a problem they can't handle, They will be sent to resolve it through any means necessary.[1]
| Role | Army Rank | Name | Nickname | Cohort Members | Cohort Specialization |

| Leader[3] | Colonel[4] | Jet | Soul Reaper | Soul Reaper picked people who can enhance her own battle performance in various ways. They are meant to wipe out the enemy by channeling their deadliest weapon — her — in the most efficient way.[5] In Chapter 1038, Jet's cohort was dead. | |

Chain of Command
In the absence of Soul Reaper, Vandal is going to assume leadership over the company.[8]
Assets
These are the default set of assets provided to the elite cohorts by the government:[9]
- Highly optimized array of premium gear and equipment from thermoregulated outerwear to priceless spelltech medical kits.[9]
- APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) was colloquially known as Rhino. It is an advanced all-terrain personnel carrier that can serve as a mobile home for the cohorts. This heavily armored transport vehicle resembled an angular, high-tech mix between a turtle and a rhinoceros. It can traverse a variety of terrains, such as climbing mountains, at an immense speed as long as the driver knew what they were doing. For the First Irregular Company, it was additionally modified with even more robust armor, inordinately powerful engines, enhanced internals, and a sophisticated command and communications suit.[9]
Trivia
- The dossiers of the Ascended captains — Vandal, Mustang, Queen, Knight, and Pride were redacted versions of the Awakened soldiers' files. Master Jet's personal file was even more obscure. Pretty much everything was blacked out except for her name and Rank.[9]
- According to Luster, Vandal, Mustang, Queen, Knight, and Pride were legends among the government soldiers. Their renown only paled in comparison to the dreaded Soul Reaper.[10]
- Soul Reaper's own cohort had been destroyed, leaving her the sole survivor.[11]
