At a glance · Shadow Lantern
Shadow Lantern is the legacy relic Sunny received Third Mastery of his Aspect Legacy, Shadow Dance.[1]
Appearance
A small lantern about the size of his palm, and made out of black, resembling stone more than anything. The frame of the lantern was intricately engraved, making it seem and feel like the scales of a serpent, and its walls were made out of glossy black morion. There was a small door on one of its walls. On its top was a ring of dark metal, with a short chain attached to it. It could be held in a hand or fastened to one's belt. As soon as the lantern appeared, the darkness of the night that surrounded Sunny instantly became deeper and colder, oppressive, and impenetrable.[2]

History
Enchantment's True Nature
Sunny discovered the true nature of the Shadow Lantern after a perilous experience of attempting to fuse with it. The lantern, made from a black, stone-like material with serpent-scale patterns and a glossy morion gate, can devour light and contain an infinite amount of shadows due to its enchantment, [Gates of Shadow]. However, when Sunny tried to fuse with the Divine Memory of the lantern, he was overwhelmed by its vastness and barely escaped with his sanity intact.[3]
Despite the danger, the brief fusion allowed Sunny to gain a deeper understanding of the lantern. He realized that the enchantment's name was literal: the Gates of Shadow are actually the Gates of Shadow God. This revelation explained why shadows, including a Fragment of the Shadow Realm, could be sent into the lantern but not retrieved. Sunny concluded that the shadows sent into the lantern were transported to the Shadow God's Realm.[3]
Gates of Shadow
Sunny realized that the Shadow Lantern he carried held the key to the Shadow Realm. Sunny’s fusion with the Divine Memory of the Lantern confirmed that its gate led directly to the Shadow Realm[3]he Shadow Realm couldn't be retrieved after being stored in the Lantern.[4]
He pondered the implications of accessing the Shadow Realm, the last of the six Divine Realms, which had remained a mystery while the Dream Realm consumed the other five. The Shadow Realm could be the most dangerous, filled with untold perils. However, it might also hold the key to finding his missing Titan Core and becoming a Transcendent Titan, significantly boosting his power.[4]
