Bag of Withholding is the first entirely original Memory which Sunny made for Rain.^[1] It is a spatial storage Memory that helped Sunny advance his sorcery to a new level.^[2]

Description

A leather backpack, crafted with care, despite being smaller, it was able to compete with luxurious bags from famous fashion designers, showcasing Sunny's exceptional craftsmanship.^[4]

The backpack was made from leather with little details like clasps, pockets, decorations, and so on.^[1]

To counter the drawback of added weight, Sunny weaves in an enchantment derived from the Feather of Truth, reducing the weight of the items inside so the backpack remains manageable to carry.^[1]
The Memory preserves its contents securely. Sunny achieves this by treating the items as a part of the backpack itself, allowing stored items to be dismissed along with the bag without spilling them out.^[1]

Creation

Summary

Sunny aimed to create something new without relying on imitation. With a vast mental library of string patterns and hours spent studying them, he can modify familiar weaves. However, he is limited in the scale and scope of such alterations. His new ability to fuse with his possessions allows him to understand the connection between weaves and enchantments, which is the last gain he needs to break free from his past limitations.^[4]

Sunny chose a roll of leather he made himself from the Nightmare Creatures' hides. The leather is a valuable treasure for most Awakened, and more than a few Masters. After finding more materials, he cut the leather using his nail, creating a leather backpack that could rival the most luxurious bags sold by fashion designers.^[4]

Sunny dove deeper into the state of unity with the Marvelous Mimic, exploring its connection to space. He began by creating a framework for the weave and its rudimentary enchantments. This process led to a cascade of understanding, helping him deal with dilemmas he had no prior knowledge of and pushing the weave to its final form.^[1]

Finally, he created a spatial storage Memory by having a sufficient understanding of the fundamental rules of weaving, graduating from imitation to originality. This was his first entirely original Memory.^[1]

Trivia

After paying a ridiculous amount for the [Overpriced Saddle], Sunny vowed to never be robbed blind again and learned how to handle leather himself. The name of the Memory is an expression of his deep, inconsolable anguish.^[4]
