History
The Chain of Nightmares was causing significant damage to the central region, particularly the Antarctic Center, where the Winter Beast appeared. The Titan caused numerous deaths and collapsed the communication network. Saint Tyris could counter its powers but sadly, she can only contain the titan. Army Command decided to cut losses and focus on defending a single region.[1]
The First Army plans to withdraw from the Antarctic Center, relocating its entire population, postponing the previous plan for gradual evacuation to Eastern Antarctica.[1]
Since Eastern Antarctica was performing better than the central region of the Quadrant due to its larger, densely populated, and better terrain, the First Army contingent in it was significantly more powerful with three field armies operating having 300 soldiers and 15,000 Awakened.[1]
Additionally, two of the three Saints who participated in the campaign were stationed there, and the Song clan emissary and government Transcendent were assigned to the larger landmass.[1]
Prelude
Falcon Scott is the sole target in the Antarctica Center, causing increased infighting between Nightmare Creatures. Terrain limits their approach and leads swarms and tribes of abominations to compete for the right to attack the wall, with many being slaughtered before reaching the city. First Army leaders emphasize identifying priority targets and devising strategies to deal with these creatures. The preliminary analysis shows that these Nightmare Creatures represent the most acute threat to the city:[2]
- A cloud of flying vermin devouring the landscape
- An unclear river of darkness flowing through a deep gorge
- A grotesque beast hiding behind the snow of the LO49 facility
- A walking mountain with a single inhuman eye emerging from a sea of incandescent lava to attack the vast city
The First Army needs to defend Falcon Scott for at least three weeks.[3]
- Master Winter is skilled in ranged and area-of-effect attacks. She will be in charge of bolstering the city defenses by deflecting aerial threats.[4]
- Three unfamiliar First Army Ascended who had Aspects that work well against Heart of Darkness are responsible for it.[4]
- Saint Bloodwave, Master Naeve, are responsible for hunting the aquatic creature to prevent the Terror of LO49 from approaching Falcon Scott.[4]
- Winter Beast was confirmed to be a Corrupted Titan and Saint Tyris is responsible for it.[4]
Battle
During the siege in Falcon Scott, Sky Tide is doing well, despite White Feather's loss in the battle with the Devouring Cloud. Her husband and immediate family members survived, but Roan is out of commission for a few weeks. The House of Night also lost many Awakened on the same day. Although the forces of the great clans are diminished, their heavy hitters are still alive.[5]
The Tyrants of the Devouring Cloud were done by Jet, Sunny, and Mongrel (Saint).[5] The Terror of LO49 was dealt by Sunny[6] and its thralls by Bloodwave.[7][8] Saint dealt with Goliath[9] and Heart of Darkness was dealt by Bloodwave.[10]
After Tyris lost the fight against Winter Beast[11], there was an influx of refugees at the port due to the impending fall of Falcon Scott.[12]
Aftermath
Sunny survived by running away and hid in the embrace of shadows, waiting for the snowstorm to pass.[13]
Falcon Scott, the last human citadel in the Antarctic Center, fell to the Chain of Nightmares due to a harrowing blizzard, freezing the city and killing its inhabitants.[14]

Trivia
- The First Army's most notable figures include twenty-one Masters, four of them were part of Irregulars, Tyris and Bloodwave. There are a few mundane commanders, but the majority were Ascended.[2]
- A Saint of Valor Clan was reported dead in the Dream Realm, while heroically defending a Citadel from some vicious Nightmare Creature.[4]
- Civilians were categorized into groups with different values, with high-value citizens being ferried first. The rest were placed in a long queue by a randomized algorithm. Factors like family size, genetic defects, and citizenship level also influenced the algorithm, with non-citizens from the local outskirts being evacuated last.[15]
- After Tyris was incapacitated, Bloodwave led a ship with her in tow and will guard the strait until the relocation is complete.[16][17]
- Beth, Kim, and Luster board the ship to East Antarctica.[17]
- Gere and Carin, most of the First Army remained in Falcon Scott to face the Corrupted Titan, Winter Beast.[18]
