Article contents
The Fifth Annual Dream Tournament was sponsored by clan Valor so the arena was designed to resemble the seat of their power, great Bastion.[5]
Arena
The arena was vast and encompassed all of the forests. It was in the middle of a lush forest where the ancient trees swayed lightly, their leaves rustling in the gentle wind. Some distance away, a tranquil lake glistened in the sunlight, and from its clear waters, a breathtakingly beautiful castle rose into the sky. The castle was built out of grey stone and was as large as a city, its ancient walls scarred by a thousand sieges that it had withstood.[5]
Rounds
Battle Royale
A thousand challengers were sent into a large environment, and only the last one standing would be allowed to move on.[5]

Tournament Duels
The opening ceremony of the tournament was supposed to be a spectacular event, with thousands of challengers — each of them a talented Awakened fighters — gathered in the magnificent central courtyard of the illusory Bastion. Slightly more than a thousand of them were those participating in the individual competition, and the rest were members of competing cohorts.[9]

Trivia
- This competition was hosted by Syclus and Dimi.[5]
- There's a record number of fighters who signed up for this tournament.[5]
- According to Dimi, prizes from Valor Clan outdone themselves for this tournament.[5]
- It was possible to exchange Memories in the Dreamscape. One could receive a Memory out of nowhere, without the usual requirement of being in physical contact — even if that contact was illusory — with its master. However, if the Saint in question was responsible for delivering the rewards, then it sort of made sense.[1]
- There were four types of challengers who tended to do well in the Dream tournament.[1]
- The first type relied on skill.
- The second type relied on a powerful Aspect.
- The third type relied on excellent Memories.
- The fourth type had both formidable skill and powerful Aspects, as well as an arsenal of fearsome Memories at their disposal.
- The winner and the runner-up were going to receive Memories from clan Valor's personal armory.[2]
