Sunny is affected by the Nightmare Spell alongside many others and has to prepare to survive as his life is about to turn completely around. He has to forcibly challenge the first nightmare, a dreamworld where the Nightmare Spell leaves the challengers in a hellish environment with dangerous enemies.

Through deception, luck, and sheer will, Sunny manages to survive the first nightmare but his misery has not come to an end. In a month's time, on the day of the Winter Solstice, he will be transported to the Dream Realm where his luck will decide his fate.

With the little preparation he can do in a month, he goes to the Dream Realm, soon encountering Nephis and Cassie. They find themselves in the Forgotten Shore, with dangerous Nightmare Creatures, and relentless tides of the ocean, their only hope lies in Cassie's prophecy of a castle due west.
