First Nightmare
She did not survive the First Nightmare due to being young, weak, and frightened. However, she did not remain completely dead and crawled out of the grave to finish the trial. It may be due to the role she played in the Nightmare or her innate Attribute that created the possibility of such a happening. The Spell seemed impressed with the result, that she was given a Supreme Aspect.[1]
As a Sleeper
Learning her Flaw was not the hardest part, but surviving the time between the Nightmare and the Solstice was. Sleepers struggle to find things to kill before entering the Dream Realm, and asking for help costs her a lot. She was invited to the Academy and asked for details about her Aspect, but as an ignorant kid from the outskirts, she told them everything, and from that moment, they kept her on a leash.[2]
Third Nightmare

Soul Reaper and Effie were sent to the same place at the start of the nightmare. The people whose roles they took belonged to a tribe of river nomads, who had regressed into abject savagery. It seemed that their ancestors were the survivors of one of the destroyed cities.[3]
By the time Effie and Jet came around, the tribe could barely be called a tribe, and all other nomadic tribes seemed to have gone extinct already.[3]
Soul Reaper and Effie tried to keep the nomads alive and find out where they were, what was happening, and how to conquer the Nightmare. They learned from the surviving tribesmen about the Tomb of Ariel, the Great River, the Defilement, and the fall of the River Cities. They also fought plenty of Nightmare Creatures, with Jet killing most.[3]
Everything was well until they stumbled on an especially powerful swarm of the Drowned, which killed everyone except for Effie and Jet. They remained Outsiders despite having taken the roles of two Riverborn people. The Drowned pursued them relentlessly as if it was their life's mission to obliterate all nomads. After a week of running away and fighting, they got lost in the mist and sucked into a whirlpool. Jet then sent her echo Crow Crow, hoping to find anyone from the cohort.[3]
From Jet's perspective, it was only a couple of hours on the island.[3] After they reunited with the cohort, they managed to destroy the loop[4] and she killed Undying Slaughter that fulfilled the requirement to unlock her Aspect Legacy.[5]
During the battle in Twilight, she and Jet were kept safe inside her locket Memory.[6]
Somewhere near Verge, she went on a scouting mission with Kai and Effie.[7]
After Third Nightmare
She and Effie have successfully suppressed a minor Gate Crisis in the Eastern Quadrant, resulting in minimal casualties.[8]
Involvement in the Government
The government was in turmoil, drifting on historical currents. Four years ago, the government decided to invest heavily in the Dream Realm, causing Effie to be permanently stationed in Bastion and Kai in Ravenheart. However, Jet opposed this strategy, insisting on keeping the government Saints in the waking world to minimize losses. She believed the future of humanity lay in the Dream Realm but advocated for a different allocation of resources. Sadly, she failed to turn her opinion into policy, which could have prevented or reduced the current disaster.[9]

After the Throne War
Having upended the entire world order and new one emerged, Jet had the government under her control since there is no reason to oppose Nephis. They had a vast pool of administrative talent that helped the transition as smooth as possible. The government was only half of the equation, the Great Clans — Song, Valor, and House of Night have been the ones who are actually governing human enclaves in the Dream Realm. The Great Clans were absorbed into the new Domain to a degree after the war ended.[10]
The House of Night was disbanded and the survivors were absorbed by the Government, which make it more or less the third great clan. The Government is still responsible for the waking world but their role in the Dream Realm became prominent. They ruled Stormsea and Jet is in control of Night Garden as the "Steward of the South".[10]
Plague
- Main article: Cassie's Fragmented Memories
Soul Reaper Jet oversaw the overcrowded living ship Night Garden as it drifted beneath the Chained Isles after evacuating the Sanctuary of Noctis, sustained by divine flames and sorcery left by the Demon of Repose, while carrying refugees and Saints including Nightwalker, Bloodwave, Aether, Naeve, Tyris, and Roan, but distrusted them as Asterion's plague spread and paranoia mounted, eventually confirmed when the Dreamspawn himself appeared and the six Saints bowed to him, revealing their betrayal.[11][12][13][14]
Though Asterion subtly altered her thoughts to erase her escape plan, the Night Garden interfered, allowing Jet to regain her will and attempt escape, and when surrounded, she commanded the ship to protect her, causing Asterion and his enthralled Saints to sink into its floor while she fled, ultimately leaping into the sea of divine flames and escaping the Dream Realm by crossing her tether, becoming one of the few Saints to evade a Supreme.[15][16]
After returning to the waking world, Jet learned from Cassie that Asterion's dream-borne plague (related to Dream Merchant) had already enthralled multiple Saints and reached critical mass at the Lake of Tears, threatening major strongholds including Bastion, Ravenheart, and the Ivory Tower, and after evading a government manhunt likely led by Cor, she infiltrated a compromised compound, reached the Dream Gate of Sunny with Shadow Clan survivors, and escaped alongside Nightmare to the Dark City and ultimately the Forgotten Shore, beyond Asterion's immediate reach.[17][18][19]
After several days on the Forgotten Shore, Jet bid farewell to Little Ling, who departed aboard the Dark Castle with Revel carrying the Black Beast Locket, and Revel revealed she had freed Asterion's former thralls in the waking world, though this exposed the Shadow Clan's presence and forced the Dark Castle to become a wandering fortress; declining Revel's offer due to her Flaw requiring her to kill to survive, Jet left the Dark City and ventured alone into the frozen wastelands accompanied only by Crow Crow, while her soul essence continued to drain from her broken core.[20]
A murderous blizzard raged across the desolate lands west of Ravenheart, where lethal cold dominated and ash-covered mountain chains kept the storm at bay. The defensive ice outposts that once guarded human territories stood abandoned after all warriors answered the call of their golden-eyed Sovereign and marched east, leaving the Citadel Cities unprotected. Creatures from the snow moved freely through the empty fortresses, drawn by the scent of human souls, but none reached settlements—instead, they died mysteriously, their corpses left without wounds as if their lives had been extinguished by an unseen force. Hidden within the blizzard was a ghostly figure, a woman named Jet, whose presence was marked only by the absence of snow. Carrying a black scythe, she traveled east after spending an unknown amount of time in the frozen wasteland, hunting Nightmare Creatures and surviving constant battles. Having entered from the Forgotten Shore, she lost all sense of time as her world narrowed to killing and being hunted, with only the deadly cold and the Hollow Mountains as constants. Avoiding the more dangerous mist surrounding the mountains, she set a goal to find their end, and after weeks or months, succeeded in reaching the outskirts of human territory. Realizing she had been gone long enough, she continued east toward Ravenheart to see how the world had changed. [21]

Hunger Domain vs Mirror Domain
- Main article: Hunger Domain vs Mirror Domain
A vicious snowstorm had fallen over Ravenheart as Jet infiltrated the Jade Palace, which appeared to have already fallen under the Dreamspawn's control. Moving as a wisp of mist, she avoided the remaining Awakened guards and entered the palace in the form of a wraith. There, she encountered the Ravenous Fiend in a diminished form, who silently led her deeper inside. Eventually, she found Kai in a dire condition, leaving her shocked and dismayed at what had become of him.[23]
Jet and Kai hid in an alcove of the Jade Palace after escaping Kai's runic cell, while Jet assessed the dire state of the world and Kai's weakened condition, his tongue missing and his essence nearly depleted. When Kai insisted they strike at the heart of the Jade Palace, Jet agreed they could seize the Great Citadel and later escape to the waking world, reasoning that its loss would disrupt Asterion's power. Though she warned that her methods usually left corpses, she reluctantly promised to kill as few as possible, knowing the innocent guards and possible enthralled Nightmare Creatures would make taking the Citadel far from easy, before ordering the Ravenous Fiend to keep the Jade Palace from burning down.[24]
Ending the Plague
- Main article: Ending the Plague
Jet, Kai, and Fiend had reached the Gateway of the Jade Palace, but they sensed a chilling, oppressive presence coming from within the great hall. Inside, they discovered a jade board from Ariel's Game and an enormous Cursed Devil in the form of a radiant white dragon curled around the Gateway, which Jet identified as one of the sealed figures from the Game and warned was far beyond their ability to fight. After Cassie contacted them and the importance of the mission was made clear, Kai transformed into a black dragon and challenged the Cursed Devil directly, drawing it away into the sky. Jet and Fiend were then left behind in the freezing, oppressive hall.[25]
Jet accepted that Kai had likely sacrificed himself to stop the dragon, and focused on securing the Citadel instead. She successfully overwrote the previous ruler's tether, claimed the Jade Palace as her own, left Fiend behind to defend it, and then traveled to NQSC in the waking world to carry out the next phase of Cassie's plan.[26]
Fourth Nightmare
- Main article: Fourth Nightmare (Event)
In Chapter 3034, Kai, Effie, Jet, Morgan, Seishan, and Nightwalker were among the strongest champions of humanity who volunteered to challenge the Fourth Nightmare. They returned to the site of the Battle of the Black Skull. Before entering the Nightmare Gate, each reflected on personal reasons for taking the risk. Jet ended her brief retirement to once again serve humanity.
Aftermath
The tentative plan divides the remaining Sovereigns between the Dream Realm and the waking world. Jet, Kai, and Effie are assigned to defend Earth and oversee the resettlement of humanity. Effie's Soul Garden is particularly useful for accelerating the evacuation.[27] (Refer to Division of Power)
