Rank: Ascended[1] → Transcendent[2] → Supreme.[3]

Aspect Rank: Supreme.[4]

Her Aspect Abilities allow her to target the opponent's souls directly, disregarding the flesh. No amount of armor, damage resistance, and physical protection can protect their soul cores.[5]

She can make her weapons turn ghostly and eerily luminous, and simply phase through the creature's armor right where one of the soul cores should have been.[6] The unique nature of Jet's Aspect made her attacks physical, bypassing physical defenses and striking the soul.[7]

She had a bizarre ability to absorb the soul essence of those she killed. Her powerful but fractured core constantly leaked essence like a broken vessel. She also seemed to lack the ability to regenerate essence, as all Awakened could naturally.[8]

Soul shards are useless for Jet as can only replenish her essence and strengthen her core by killing living things.[9]

Show/Hide Aspect Abilities

Received in Ability Chapter Mentioned Status Aspect Abilities
First Awakening
(After First Nightmare)
Dormant (Sleeper) 1061 Active

Her Dormant Ability allowed her to absorb the essence of enemies she killed.[11]

Her soul, unlike the souls of all Awakened, wasn't able to generate essence on its own. Worse, her soul core was shattered, leaking what little essence she had left. She would genuinely and forever perish once her essence ran out.[4]

She could only survive by continuously killing living beings and absorbing their soul essence which was her Sleeper Ability.[4]

When sufficiently full of essence, her Aspect only gives her a semblance of life, but it's a faithful imitation.[12] Her essence would never run out as long as she continued killing, allowing her to slaughter as many enemies as possible in a fierce battle.[13]

Corpse State

She looked like a corpse in her weakened state (lacking essence)[4] with demented lights burning in her glassy blue eyes, her lips bluish. She did not need to breathe in her corpse state.[14] She would also periodically lose her mind and half-heartedly try to kill.[4]

As Jet slowly recovers her powers and appearance, she comes back to life, with her eyes icy blue and her movements becoming swift, murderous, and purposeful. Her lifeless shadow had also regained its vitality.[15]

Awakening
(After first escape from Dream Realm)
Awakened (Awakened) 1061 Active Her Awakened Ability allowed her to bypass all forms of physical defense and strike directly at her enemies' souls, giving rise to her fearsome nickname, Soul Reaper.[4] This ability enables her to reap the souls of her enemies — though it is ineffective against the phantoms.[16]
Ascension
(After Second Nightmare)
Ascended (Master) 1061 Active

Her Ascended Ability was to gradually absorb shards of broken soul cores from those she had killed to build up and strengthen her own, both in size and capacity. It also removed the natural limit of essence infusion that most living beings' flesh had, allowing her to oversaturate her body with essence and achieve truly superb levels of strength, speed, and resilience.[4]

According to Sunny's experiment with the Mirror of Truth, Jet's Ascended Ability to oversaturate her flesh with essence worked for her only because of her unique constitution - not quite dead, but also not alive.[11]

Transcendance
(After Third Nightmare)
Transcendent
(Saint)
1406 Active
She can turn into a wrath.[17][18] Her Transformation Ability could turn her into an intangible wraith, with body-like mist but it was not mundane as it could not be scattered by the wind or dispelled by flames. This mist could pass through solid objects and move underwater because what looked like mist was not mist at all. It was a manifestation of her power. She could return to her corporeal form at any time.[19] (Refer to Jet's Transformation Ability)

Other Details

Jet possessed an unusual soul, a vast sphere of shattered crystal core pressed messily together to form a jagged sun. Her radiant essence leaked through gaps, but in return, her broken core grew as she killed more. By now, her core was massive like a giant star. Her dead flesh could absorb more essence than living beings, giving her immense physical strength. This strength also translated to the dire power of her wraith form.[18]

For her, losing her essence meant death, the final and irreversible obliteration of her being. She was uncertain about her ability to control herself during this slow and excruciating dissolution, as she had come close to exhausting her essence in the past but didn't want to remember them due to a few shameful things she had done.[18]

Her Transcendent Ability holds no use in battle against phantoms. Despite that, Jet is far more powerful than a typical Transcendent, approaching the level of physical prowess expected from a Supreme, and she becomes inexhaustible as long as she continues killing.[16]

As a Supreme, she could turn into a far more voluminous wraith.[20]

Supremacy
(After Fourth Nightmare)
Supreme
(Sovereign)
3143 Active Jet's Supreme power was described as strange, fearsome, and probably the strangest and most frightening of them all, and it remained largely unexplored because it could only truly be uncovered in battle. Jet could not generate spirit essence, and therefore did not really possess a conventional Domain. Instead, her titanic, shattered Soul Core served as a substitute for a Domain, with its sheer size adding incredible weight to the tyranny of her Will. The larger her Soul Core grew, the more potent her spirit became, and it had already grown tremendously. Her Aspect Abilities must also have grown more potent or evolved, although the exact changes were difficult to determine.[20]

Other Details

  • Her Transformation Ability had changed, allowing her to become a far more voluminous wraith.[20]
  • Her Awakened Ability, responsible for her being known as Soul Reaper, had also changed. Previously, it allowed her to attack the souls of living beings directly; now, it seemed to allow her to attack the spirit of her enemy as well. She could directly weaken the Will of her opponents and had become generally resistant to its effects, at times all but ignoring them. Her power was particularly dangerous against those who had attained a high Rank and relied on their Will to defend themselves and destroy their foes.[20]
  • Her source element was soul.[20]

Flaw

Reveal

"you are dead"[21]

Jet's Flaw is that she is dead the whole time but as long as she keeps killing things and absorbing their essence, she can at least maintain a semblance of life and if she doesn't then she'll be truly destroyed. It is also the reason why she joined the government because she knew that she'd always have things to kill.[21]

Soul Reaper's Flaw forced her to constantly pursue murder. It seemed that killing was the only way for her to prevent her fractured core from becoming lifeless and empty.[8]

Jet's fate if she wore the Weaver's Mask, knowing her Flaw would cause her soul to be shattered and instantly die. Her cruel Flaw was the only thing that allowed her to exist.[12]

In Chapter 2627, it was mentioned that Jet did not need air because she was dead and therefore had no use for it. Although she usually breathed like any normal human when she was not low on essence—her body metabolizing oxygen like any other—her special constitution granted her an alternative means of functioning without breathing, allowing her to exist even in places devoid of air.

Soul Core

Reveal

Jet's soul was light-less and shrouded in darkness. A single powerful core burned in its depths, superposed against her heart. The core was assembled from numerous shards, some of which seemed to match each other, while others did not fit well. The patchwork sphere of broken shards shone with furious, radiant light, brimming with a stunning amount of soul essence. Despite this, Jet's essence did not seem to be diminishing.[22]

When she killed a Nightmare Creature, a flood of tainted essence seemed to rush into her fractured core, burning away the remnants of the fetid darkness permeating it. Her flesh was saturated by essence to a much larger degree than usual. This partially explains why she was so strong despite possessing only one core.[22]

Aspect Legacy

Reveal

Jet had to kill herself to receive her Aspect Legacy.[23]

After Jet killed Undying Slaughter, she was covered in cold mist which can transform into a ghostly blade elongated into a beautiful war scythe with frost patterns. Its dark steel possessed a dreadful sheen. The scythe seemed to absorb warmth and emit a frigid sense of cold.[23]

Jet was a strange existence. A person who was not quite alive but not quite dead. Killing Undying Slaughter, substituted to her true death. Her Aspect Legacy had an insane requisite which was to die.[23]

Jet's Aspect Legacy is an Innate Ability, not a Memory, and allows her to summon a chilling mist that can turn it into a scythe without needing essence. The mist was a part of her soul now.[24]

The mist blade naturally manifested into a beautiful war scythe, but it could take on various shapes of other weapons, such as a khopesh, misericorde, a bec de corbin, and an actual scythe. There are only five available forms which are all soulbound weapons, but not like Sunny's Marble Shell. Jet's scythe is bound to the souls of those it kills, or rather those souls will become bound to it.[24]

Discoveries

  • The mist blade was able to absorb and contain the souls of its victims.[24]
The soul of the most powerful being killed by the mist blade would become the basis of its power. If Jet killed a Great Beast or an Unholy Titan, her scythe would become a Supreme Memory of the First Tier or a Divine Memory of the Seventh Tier.[24]
  • The souls within the mist could be consumed, replenishing Jet's essence.[24]
If all souls were consumed, her soul would become the basis of its power. Sunny suspected that the mist could contain five souls, equal to the Supreme Rank of Jet's Aspect. Consuming all five bound souls would make the Aspect Legacy more potent and dire. The mist blade could allow Soul Reaper to consume her soul to accomplish something dire, as the only situation where Jet would burn both her essence and souls stored inside the mist blade was a desperate one.[24]
  • The weapon is malleable in shape, as it can shift from a war scythe to a mundane scythe, allowing Jet to adjust its form mid-battle to gain an advantage—for instance, changing the blade's alignment to bypass an enemy's defense and strike precisely. The weapon's spectral and ghostly qualities complement Jet's abilities, as both deal with essence, souls, and mist-like transformations.[16]
The Mist Blade is known for its versatility and lethal precision in combat. It is described as a vicious and mercurial predator, capable of adapting its form and technique — "sometimes biting like a stinger, sometimes cutting like a scalpel, sometimes turning into a shimmering sphere of slaying steel".

It complements Jet's fighting philosophy of efficiency and simplicity, reflecting her focus on precise, optimal movements.[25]
  • The blade is highly effective against spectral enemies, having reaped countless lives — or whatever the wraiths possessed instead of lives. Each enemy struck by the Mist Blade releases raging torrents of essence that flow into Jet's starved soul, with every phantom destroyed adding jagged fragments to her shattered core.[25]

History

  • In Chapter 1723, Jet's Legacy Relic had already reaped countless souls, the strongest of which had belonged to a Great Monster, making the Relic equal to a Supreme weapon of the Second Tier.
Among those countless souls, five were bound to it, one for each of the five forms the weapon could assume. These bound souls could be consumed to replenish Jet's essence if her own reserves ran dry, and each one granted a mystical effect to the corresponding weapon form, functioning like an enchantment. When Jet transformed the scythe into a black khopesh, it carried the soul of a Corrupted Terror. This soul endowed the weapon with the dreadful effect that anyone cut by the blade would fall into a debilitating lethargy, gradually losing the will to fight, move, and eventually even breathe. Although powerful enemies could resist the lethargy to some degree, each strike still weakened them. Because of this, the khopesh was the most suitable of the mist blade's forms when confronting overwhelmingly powerful opponents.[26]
  • In Chapter 2683, during the battle in the Eternal City, it is mentioned that Jet had resorted to consuming the souls trapped in the Mist Blade to survive the city's horrors, with only one soul left inside—the Heart of Kanakht, which she deemed too valuable to consume. During combat, the Mist Blade assumes the form of a ghostly war scythe, which Jet wields with deadly skill.
The bound soul ability of the Heart of Kanakht grants the user the power to freeze the flow of time for a single heartbeat, as described by the Spell. However, a heartbeat is considered an unreliable and variable measure, since heart rates differ, and in certain cases—such as Jet's—the heart may not beat at all. Therefore, the ability is more accurately defined as allowing the user to move freely for a single moment within frozen time.[27]

When activated, the ability causes a complete suspension of temporal flow in the environment. During this suspended state, only the wielder of the ability remains capable of movement and action.[27]

A significant limitation of the ability is tied to the Will of the enemy. These Individuals can partially or fully resist the time-freezing effect, allowing them to move or react within the supposedly frozen moment.[27]
  • Jet defeated the Cursed Wanderer by exploiting the Soul of Kanakht, the viridian cutlass he wielded as the source of his power. Instead of attacking him directly, she allowed herself to be consumed by the Soul of Kanakht, retaining enough will as a wraith (explained that she entered captivity not as a helpless victim stripped of flesh, (these souls had been killed before becoming thralls of the Soul of Kanakht, effectively stripped of their individuality and subjected to the tyrannical Will of the Soul of Kanakht), but as a malevolent wraith being dead to begin with). Using the Mist Blade, she destroyed all enthralled souls inside the Soul of Kanakht, effectively annihilating it from within. Emerging empowered, Jet confronted the weakened Cursed Wanderer and eradicated him with a single scythe strike, ending his legend and solidifying her own as the Soul Reaper.[28]
Jet was swallowed by the Soul of Kanakht in Chapter 2701, in relation to possessing a fragment of Kanakht (Heart of Kanakht). The Cursed Wanderer had secured the remains of the Heart of Kanakht, preserved within Jet, and sought to further expand his collection of Kanakht's fragments by approaching the Flesh of Kanakht. However, his weapon, the viridian cutlass identified as The Soul of Kanakht, suddenly failed and shattered into dissolving ethereal shards, signifying the destruction of the Soul of Kanakht. Immediately following this, Jet emerged from the mist in a transformed and more overwhelming wraith form, wielding a fearsome scythe in Chapter 2705.

It was mentioned in Chapter 2717 that Jet had greatly increased the volume of her soul core and captured two powerful souls into her Mist Blade.
