Overview

Heart God was the God of Souls[1], as well as emotions, memory, hunger, and growth.[2] This god was the most nebulous and elusive of the six great gods.[3][4]

History

Reveal

During the Age of Heroes, the World Tree — avatar of Heart God — fell sick with a virulent rot that spread through its trunk, bark, and branches, turning golden sap into black pus and birthing horrors from its fruits. The disease was not Corruption but an Unholy Terror, a remnant of the Age of Chaos. Despite resistance from mortals and the tree itself, the sickness spread for generations until the Demon of Repose answered Heart God's call. She placed the tree into endless rejuvenation, allowing it to rot, die, and regrow until the Unholy Terror was consumed and destroyed. The World Tree was restored, though human cities in its branches were devastated. As payment, the Demon of Repose took a branch to create the Night Garden, a vast living ship that survived even after the World Tree's destruction.[5]

Trivia

  • The blessed of Heart, Aidre, guarded his Heart Grove, which was the sacred grove of his and the jewel of the Kingdom of Hope.[6]
  • According to Noctis, servants of Heart and Shadow were able to build a heart worthy of a Shadow Demon from scratch.[7]
  • Sunny suspected Burned Forest was the Heart God's Divine Realm.[8]
  • In Chapter 2593, it was mentioned that the World Tree was an avatar of the Heart God.
  • Traces of this deity appeared in different forms:
    • Aidre of the Chain Lords and the Desecrated Grove, from which came the sapling that empowered the Chain Breaker.[4]
    • The sacred tree to which Eurys and Azarax had been nailed for thousands of years, preventing them from forgetting themselves like the other deathless prisoners of the Nightmare Desert.[4]
    • The Burned Forest itself.[4]
    • The Soul Devourer, which Sunny suspected was a sacred tree that had grown after the Doom War and succumbed to Corruption.[4]
    • The traces of Heart God were also connected to Sunny's past Memories. The [Memory of Ice] described a time when, even after the sun returned, people remembered the endless winter, while the [Memory of Fire] spoke of a calamity where nothing remained but flame. These fragmented descriptions seemed to reflect the fate of the Sacred Forest, its people, and the primordial humans and creatures of the Heart Realm, who likely built the barrows at the Forgotten Shore. With the God of Memory gone, those people were gone as well, remembered only by the Nightmare Spell.[4]
