The Forgotten God is not included in the list known gods thus the forgotten seventh god.[1] The first mention of this god was from Eurys' song.[3]

Eurys' Song

In the cavernous expanse of black stone, a dark river flowed in the underworld. Nephis and Eurys traversed the river on a gondola cut from onyx with a glass lantern hanging on its bow which was their lone source of light. While Eurys was working the oar he hummed a song:[3]

“ One day the gods will fall
And reveal their lie
The one who sleeps will awaken
To devour his children
Oh, and us all
That which was forgotten
Will be remembered
And consume the world
Oh, all of us will dream
The nightmare
Of the Forgotten God…
”

The seventh god, the Forgotten God, was the god of dreams, nightmares, restoration, imagination, oblivion, and fate. People dreamed about what they desired. They saw nightmares about things they dreaded. Sleep brought with it rest and was full of fantastical things. Dreams were easily forgotten and sometimes brought visions of fate, while destiny represented the other side of fate.[1]

Background

Reveal

In Chapter 1570, it was confirmed that there were seven gods. The seventh God, the Dream God, who had been forgotten. The daemons were children of this Forgotten God. A mere mention of the Forgotten God was forbidden, which was probably why Weaver's lineage was described as forbidden. The Forgotten God, the Dream Realm, and the Nightmare Spell had an obvious connection.[4] (Refer to Hidden Truth)

The gods were liars, leaving one of their own in a cage to imprison the Void. This led to the creation of the universal law of imperfection, which gave the gods the final push to seal the Void. This made the Forgotten God their Flaw, and the daemons, born from his soul, living incarnations of that Flaw.[5]

The gods forbid the knowledge of the Forgotten God from spreading, but there was something deeper hiding behind the lie. The law of imperfection meant that everything in the world, including the gods, was imperfect, and the seal on the Void could be broken. This meant the Forgotten God could one day break free from the void.[5]

There were seven gods, not six, and therefore, there were seven divine realms. The sixth was the waking world, likely belonging to the War God, and the seventh was the Dream Realm, which spread corruption through the blooming Seeds of Nightmare. Corruption was the result of the Void influencing that which had been created by the gods.[5]

The seventh god had already broken free from his seal but he was still asleep. All of existence was in the throes of his nightmare. The Forgotten God who had succumbed to Corruption. The gods had to prevent him from growing stronger and awakening, erased all mentions of his existence, and forbade the daemons from siring offspring. They destroyed Hope's kingdom when people worshipped her, a cruel punishment considering the daemons' ignorance of their origin.[5]

Trivia

  • The seven daemons represented one of the Aspects of the Dream God, who had been forgotten and erased from history, only mentioned in forbidden runes that most people could not read and repelled anyone who tried.[1]
