Rime[1], the Demon of Repose, also referred to simply as Repose[2], is one of the seven daemons.[3]
Appearance
Ability
She was revealed to have been responsible for creating the very concept of changing seasons.[5][2] This being had either caused or ended an ice age that threatened to consume all of existence — or perhaps even both. In the visions Sunny witnessed, the Demon of Repose appeared intertwined with the history of the Heart Realm, particularly in relation to the World Tree and the Sacred Forest. After the long and dreadful ice age, it was with the help of the Demon of Repose that the World Tree and the Sacred Forest were able to find a state of balance, although they eventually burned in the end.[2]
The fragmented descriptions of the [Memory of Ice] and the [Memory of Fire] also seemed connected to this tale, suggesting that the calamities of unending winter and consuming flame were part of the larger story tied to the Sacred Forest and its inhabitants, with the Demon of Repose playing a central role in shaping those ancient events.[2]
The Demon of Repose is able to utilize a form of sorcery involving Nothing. Daemons commonly adopted useful ideas, and the Demon of Repose is said to have emulated a method by incorporating Nothing into her workings. The creation of the Eternal City and the design of the Palace is attributed to the Demon of Repose. The Palace is a structure built to channel powerful sorcery, and the Eternal City itself is stated to have been constructed around it.[6]

Trivia
- The Great Citadel of House of Night (Night Garden) was connected to the Demon of Repose.[7]
- Eternal City was not a paradise but a prison created by the Demon of Repose to trap the beings she hated for eternity.[8]
- The Demon of Repose is capable of separating living beings from their shadows, an act that Sunny had no clear understanding of and considered extraordinary, as she was not Shadow God. The shadows severed by the Demon of Repose were being drawn into the Shadow Realm, where they would return to the natural cycle and be reduced to pure essence, which would result in the immortals of the Eternal City dying rather than becoming mortal again. Unlike other severed shadows, Nightwalker's shadow had to be returned to its original owner, but the exact sorcery the Demon of Repose had used to sever it was unknown, leaving no clear method for reattachment.[9]
