Femur Hollows are one of the Hollows located within Godgrave[1], formed along the colossal remains of the dead deity. Like the other Hollows, it is an extremely dangerous region where survival is nearly impossible for those below the rank of Saint, and even Saints themselves face a high risk of death.[2]
Description
Bathed in the oppressive heat of a cloudy sky, Breastbone Hollow is a desolate, otherworldly landscape dominated by the colossal femur of a dead deity, lying cracked and weathered on a sloping plain. The winds howl through deep canyons that scar the surface, adding to the eerie desolation. Unlike other parts of the Dream Realm, no scarlet vines or jungles cover the bone or its surroundings, leaving the area lifeless and silent. The femur extends down to the edge of the forbidding Sea of Ash, a place so perilous that even the Lord of Shadows avoids it. The fate of the tibia and fibula remains uncertain, either buried beneath the ash or altogether absent — an enigma no one dares to investigate.[3]
The femur forms a great inclined plain, transforming into a labyrinth of deep canyons at its southern edge, marking the end of Godgrave. This formation resulted from a massive blow thousands of years ago that shattered both of the god's femurs near the knees. Deep cracks run through the ancient bone, some leading to the Hollows, while others extend to the Sea of Ash, an endless grey expanse. The knee joints are buried in ash, and it remains uncertain whether the tibias and fibulas exist beneath or were completely severed.[4]
