Spine Hollow

Moonveil and Revel began their journey in the Hollows of Breastbone Reach during a rainstorm, navigating flooded jungle rivers aboard an enchanted ship. They pushed their powers to survive abominable creatures and natural hazards before reaching the Hollows of the Second Rib. There, they confronted powerful currents, fields of man-eating seaweed, slithering vines, and island-sized water lilies that could enchant and consume humans.^[3]

Upon reaching the Spine Ocean, their ship was destroyed, leaving only Moonveil and Revel alive. They were trapped by the Call of Nightmare, which revealed blooming Seeds beneath the surface, making retreat impossible. Revel concluded that the only way to survive was to conquer the Spine Citadel and use its Gateway to escape to the waking world.^[3]

Their journey was further complicated by the Sword Army, a force entering the Spine Ocean with monstrous aquatic Echoes, including seven Sword Saints and Masters sent to kill Revel. This made the Sword Army a significant threat alongside the ocean’s natural dangers.^[3] Resolved to eliminate their pursuers and claim the Citadel to strengthen the Song Domain, Moonveil and Revel prepared to face the Spine Ocean’s horrors and their enemies, determined to either achieve victory or die trying.^[3]
