The Glass Hell was a vast plain made entirely out of glass, with tall ridges and deep crevasses scattered across its polished surface, though it was largely flat and smooth. Sunlight reflected from the glass like a river of molten gold, and its transparent surface resembled ice and vast glaciers. However, despite its appearance, the Glass Hell was like a sweltering oven because the glass absorbed heat during the day and radiated it outward at night. Countless focus points across the plain acted as lenses, capable of burning people to death with focused sunlight, blinding them, or suffocating them with heat.[1]

Beneath the transparent surface lay countless tunnels stretching deep into darkness, where transparent, insect-like Nightmare Creatures lived as part of one enormous hive. These abominations had transparent bodies that made them difficult to detect, but their scythes and mandibles were as sharp as razors. They moved underground and could burst through the glass anywhere on the plain, either in small hunting groups that dragged prey into the depths or in great hordes that poured onto the surface and devoured everything in their path. Despite these dangers, humanity had conquered at least the surface of the Glass Hell. The Hollow Mountains rose in the north, and the region's sole Citadel, Red Hill, was located near its southern boundary.[1]
