Black Mountain is the mountain Sunny climbed in his First Nightmare. On its peak was where the Nameless Temple stood.[1][2]

Description

The steep rocky slopes were barren, and sharp ridges were covered in snow. There was one mountain that towered above the rest, though...

Jagged and lonesome, it dwarfed other peaks of the mountain chain, cutting the night sky with its sharp edges. A radiant moon bathed its slopes in the ghostly, pale light.

It was the Black Mountain from his First Nightmare.

History

On the peak of the Black Mountain, a vast expanse of flat rock is covered with snow. At the center of the mountain, illuminated by moonlight, stands a magnificent temple with colossal columns and walls cut from black marble. The temple was once in ruins, with fractures and cracks marring the black stones, parts of the roof having collapsed, and tall gates broken. The temple remained unchanged, except for the presence of thousands of bones surrounding it.[2]

The Scholar mentioned that pilgrims used to climb the mountain in ancient times.[3][2]
