Denial Amulet was first worn by Welthe.[1] It was a protection amulet against Mordret's possession ability.[4]
Appearance
History
Initially appeared Welthe's possession[1] but after Mordret managed to remove it[4], it was later seen to be in Cassie's possession after she and Sunny escape from Mordret in the Night Temple. She gave it to Sunny for safe keeping.[5]
In the Second Nightmare, Sunny tried to give the amulet to Effie but she rejected in favor of Kai.[2]
In the Third Nightmare, another copy of amulet was infused into the Dread Lord's scales.[6] It was destroyed by Kai in Chapter 1519.
In Chapter 1910, Morgan gifted six Saints an anvil-pierced amulet, except Nightingale, who already had one. She instructed her companions to treasure the amulets, as only seven exist. Morgan urged them not to part with the amulet or allow someone else to take it unless they wanted to become one of Mordret's vessels. The seventh amulet was lost in Antarctica and never recovered. It was worn by Madoc.[3]
Morgan had enlisted or coerced the help of the six champions, three (Naeve, Bloodwave, Aether) of whom belonged to the House of Night, while the other three (Nightingale, Raised by Wolves, Soul Reaper) were with the government. The seventh amulet was lost in Antarctica and never recovered. It was worn by Madoc.[3]
Having prepared to fight her brother for four years, Morgan doubted he would challenge her in a soul duel. She hoped he would, but the amulets were a bad solution. Morgan's family had learned that the only way to kill him was to destroy his true reflection during a soul duel. Donning the amulets rejected the only method of defeating the enemy.[3]
Trivia
- According to Noctis, he cannot recreate the talisman due to its unique sorcery and the reason behind its creation, which he finds elusive. It was made by someone far more powerful than him.[2]
- Clan Valor possesses other means of defense against Mordret, but none are quite as easily transportable.[3]
