Kael Tverinov

In the restart where Zorian first brought Kiri with him, they rented a room in Imaya Kuroshka's house, and so did Kael and Kana. Kirielle became friendly with Kana, which eventually led to Kael becoming friendly with Zorian.^[6] Zorian told Taiven in front of Kael about a hypothetical time loop, but Kael correctly concluded that Zorian was serious. Zorian then told Kael everything he knew at the moment about the time loop. Kael then tentatively identified the spell the lich cast on him and Zach, based on the chant Zorian remembered, as soul meld^[3].

Zorian helped Kael by memorizing the results of his experiments and providing him with large amount of alchemical materials. Kael often helps Zorian with his problems, for example, he gave him a list of people who could help him protect himself from soul magic, and during one restart even enchanted a coin which was capable of separating Quatach-Ichl's soul from his body when it entered physical contact with him^[7].

Before the time loop, Kael used to collect plant ingredients (for alchemy) himself^[8]. During the loop, he went to the Great Northern Forest for that at least twice: once with just Zorian^[8] and once with other temporary loopers^[9].

After Zorian confirmed that Red Robe left the time loop, Kael was able to scale up his experiments, hiring other alchemists^[10]. In one restart, a crowd gathered near Imaya's house, "ranging from simple curious neighbors that had gathered to see what was happening to groups of healers, mages, various guild recruiters and newspaper reporters", because Kael's work was, in his words, "impressive enough to cause a stir"^[11]. Silverlake later criticised Kael for "missing opportunities" given by the time loop such as unrestricted experiments on humans^[12].

He was made a temporary looper^[13], but killed by the Guardian of the Threshold just after the exit from the time loop was opened^[14].

• Kael was actually the main character of a story idea that Domagoj ended up scrapping, but then he decided to retool Kael into a supporting character for MoL. ^[15]
