Kyron

Kyron is an ex-battlemage, teacher of combat magic at Cyoria's Royal Academy of Magical Arts.^[1] Teaches magic missile to Zorian's class (and, during the looping month, nothing else). After some restarts, Zorian approaches him for more instruction, and Kyron loans him a rod of magic missiles and a booklet, presumably treating advanced versions of magic missile.^[2] A few restarts after, Zorian asks Kyron about "countering mind magic" and Kyron offers him "resistance training" (using mind magic spells on the trainee so that he can learn to resist them reflexively), which Zorian accepts.^[3]

He knows the "severing whip" spell, and an unnamed spell compacting gas in the vicinity into a ball in caster's hand,^[4] Zorian later uses both the whip^[5] and gas-compacting^[6] spells.

In one restart, Zorian was helping to defend the academy during the Invasion of Cyoria by using mind magic on monsters. After the battle, Kyron confronted him about it. Zorian chose not to deny that, since less than a minute remained before the restart ended.^[7]

He was made a temporary looper^[8] and killed by a beast formed from a piece of Panaxeth's body after Zorian and co. managed to create the exit from the time loop.^[9]
