Byrn Ivarin

He rides the train with Zorian at the beginning of several restarts^[1][2][3] and outside the time loop^[4]. He is talkative and likes company. He is the only child of some first generation mages^[2] and his mother is a librarian.

Tells Zorian that there exist library divination spells for searching books, and that Zorian could "probably" get a job at the academy library to learn those spells. (Zorian gets this job ^[1] and learns the spells^[5]). Later, Zorian accompanied him to the academy under a rain barrier, thus the barrier failed before Zorian and Kirielle could reach Imaya's house. Later Kirielle drew a portrait of Byrn^[6]. In a later restart, Zorian claimed Cult of the Dragon Below plans to summon demons in front of Ibery Ambercomb and Byrn^[3]. Finally, outside the time loop, Byrn told Ibery, Zorian and Kirielle the news about the attack on Zach (unaware that Zorian helped to repel that attack)^[4].
