SPOILER WARNING!
This article contains HEAVY SPOILERS for the Shadow Slave webnovel. Please read at your own risk. |
There were many realms before the End War. Some of which were connected, some apart, some considered mortal realm, others divine.[1]
There were seven gods, not six, and therefore, there were seven divine realms. The sixth was the waking world, likely belonging to the War God, and the seventh was the Dream Realm, which spread corruption through the blooming Seeds of Nightmare. Corruption was the result of the Void influencing that which had been created by the gods.[2]
Mortal Realms
The mortal realms were the site of the war between the daemons and gods, which ended with their destruction and became the core of the Dream Realm, where Corruption reigns. This is why the Dream Realm seemed like a patchwork world with different regions possessing different skies, celestial bodies, and laws.[3]
Divine Realms
The divine realms were left untouched by the war. Even after the gods died, their realms remained. They were isolated from the mortal realms and other divine realms, so they were left untouched by the spreading Corruption for a while. There were six of them.[3]
The world where Wind Flower came from was one of the six divine realms similar to the Great River. It is a beautiful world covered entirely by water, with countless islands rising. A world of storms, winds, and stars that were believed to have been consumed by the Dream Realm.[3] (Refer to Twilight Sea)
The Dream Realm consumed five of the six Divine Realms. Sunny suspected Stormsea was the Storm God's Divine Realm, Godgrave was the Sun God's, Burned Forest was the Heart God's, fragments of the Beast God's realm lingered in the Song Domain, and Earth was the War God's. The Shadow Realm, the seventh of the six Divine Realms, remained unaccounted for. The Dream Realm consumed five of the six. The Shadow Realm remained a mystery, despite the existence of five Divine Realms.[4]
However, the Realm of Death has always been linked to the Underworld, acting as a boundary between the living and the dead. In the current state of the realms, it now exists directly beneath the Underworld. Descending into the Abyss will lead them into the Shadow Realm.[5]

Earth was distinct among the Divine Realms due to its patron deity, War God, who embodied humanity, intellect, technology, and progress. The laws she set for her own Realm are still intact and because of these laws, Earth was historically free from true sorcery, Awakened beings, and mythical creatures. It was also the last realm to be infected by the Nightmare Spell.[6] Earth's laws were designed to be mundane, preventing Awakening and sorcery. When the Nightmare Spell invaded, humans began the Path of Ascension, which caused a conflict with these laws. The higher one climb on the path to divinity, the more they are repelled by the laws governing the realm and feels like the world itself is rejecting them.[7][7] This force of rejection is not yet felt by Saints, since they exist halfway between the Dream Realm and Earth, but it becomes a significant struggle for Supremes, making it difficult for them to return to Earth. It is almost certain that a Sacred human won't be able to set foot on Earth at all.[7] |

Trivia
- In Chapter 1450, it was believed that the Earth would soon be assimilated by the Dream Realm, similar to how the other five divine realms have already become a part of it. It will be the last world infected by the Spell, as it will no longer have any place to spread.
