Soul Sea is supposed to be lively, with a star hanging above — the visual representation of the soul core — was supposed to be burning with bright light, filling the Soul Sea with a warm, blinding shine.[1]
Formation
After Aspirants successfully pass their First Nightmare, something will awaken inside them. It was as though their soul was being shaken awake, infused with strange new energy. The source, however, was coming from within as though it had always been there, sleeping. The energy will fill every fiber of their being. They will be reborn, becoming stronger, faster, and healthier. After that, a Sea of Soul is formed.[1]
Awakened Perception when visiting the Soul Sea
Entering the Soul Sea, resulted in a strange split of the Awakened's consciousness, with one part of it exploring the depths of his soul, while the other remained aware of his actual surroundings. It was akin to imagining a landscape but doing so did not turn one blind and deaf.[2]
Soul Seas
Note: The number of suns in the soul sea indicated the number of soul cores one has, their class.

| Sunny | A silent, calm dark sea illuminated by a lonely black sun Details His soul sea was dark and lightless. Hidden in the darkness, shapeless forms were constantly moving.[1] Due to consuming Weaver's drop of ichor, Sunny was now able to see the motionless black figures around his soul sea, the shadows of creatures he had killed.[3] As a Transcendent with a claimed Citadel His Soul Sea, once a vast expanse of silent water, now features a magnificent black temple in the center, a perfect replica of the Nameless Temple that appeared when Sunny claimed ownership of the ancient Citadel. The legion of shadows, once lifeless and motionless, gather around the temple, with several giant figures towering above. Sunny suspects that the Soul Seas of all Saints are different from those of lesser Awakened, as a Soul Sea represents one's soul and Transcendence is about the soul surpassing the limits of its mortal vessel.[6] Supreme As a Supreme, his Soul Sea now possesses the capability to store physical items—albeit limited to inanimate objects.[7] |
| Mordret | A vast and somber expanse, the grey sky covered by stormy clouds, and the surface beneath was shrouded in white mist. The space is filled with soft light, and high above, a radiant sphere shines like a sun, its pale rays falling through the veil of storm clouds. There are vague symbols on the sun's surface.[8] |
| Nephis | A calm ocean, surrounded by sunlight and golden clouds. The water glowed beautifully, reflecting heaven's brilliance. Seven suns shone brightly above.[9] Details With Nephis's command, her soul sea transformed into a fiery landscape. The ocean became a liquid flame as if one was standing on the surface of a furious white star and the golden clouds floating above were an incandescent gas, drowning one in burning stardust. The seven suns' light was harrowing, as its radiance swelled, turning the calm ocean into an incandescent white void.[9] In Chapter 2055, there is a replica of the Tower of Hope floated above a radiant golden ocean under seven brilliant suns in her soul sea. |

Details As an Awakened, Rain's soul is deeply connected to the essence of the world, granting her access to a form of spirit essence. Unlike typical soul cores, spirit essence does not directly saturate her core or enhance her physical strength but remains under her control. Her Soul Sea further reflects this uniqueness; initially, it appeared as an endless sea with a radiant sun (soul core) and orbiting little lights (memories). Over time, however, clouds have begun to surround the sun, turning her Soul Sea grey and stormy. These clouds represent the spirit essence she has accumulated.[10] | |
| Effie | Within Effie's soul, the Garden of Prosperity manifested as a great island rising from beneath the undulating waves of her Soul Sea.[11] |
Trivia
- Ancient Humans are able to find their way to their soul sea after successfully refining their soul essence. Without the ability to enter the Soul Sea, it would take one many lifetimes to Ascend even with the best refinement technique.[12]
- Modern Humans carriers relied on the Nightmare to discover their Soul Sea. Without the guidance of the Nightmare Spell, one had to learn how to discover their Soul Sea.[12]
- In the waking world, everyone assumed that being able to access the Soul Sea was a natural ability of all Awakened, including Sleepers, which turned out as another thing that the Spell had simplified for the humans.[12]
- It seems that all of Divine Aspect Holders had some sort of soul defense mechanism as seen with the following:[13]
