Minor Worlds appear to be normal planets. However, unlike their Great Planet counterpart, these phenomena are actually entrances to hidden dimensions.[1] Resistant to perception-based skills, the only way to discover what these unknown dimensions hold is to enter and explore.

Traits

Minor Worlds appear randomly throughout the multiverse without any rhyme or reason for their sudden appearance. Each minor world will carry certain traits or aspects that make them beneficial or detrimental to explorers, such as granting extra experience points, extreme time dilation, or offering unique items that can only be found in that specific minor world and nowhere else in the multiverse.[1]

These pocket dimensions are extremely resistant to perception-based skill. Even as a Primordial, the Malefic Viper says he'd have to be right in front of a minor world to detect it. Jake likewise reports being unable to see beyond the outer energy veil, not even using his notoriously powerful Sphere of Perception. Villy notes that this trait makes Minor Worlds great places to hide away, particularly if the entrance is destroyed, preventing pursuit as was done by the vampires of Yalsten.

If a Minor World was destroyed, the hidden dimension would remain but be entirely sealed off until someone inside reestablished a connection to stable space. Finding a sealed dimension from the outside is nearly impossible with the Viper positing that only someone like the Wyrmgod or Eversmile would be able to and, even then, only with great effort. However, while a person can shelter in or be trapped in a Minor World, Villy points out that the space is not cut off from the System, noting that even if Jake somehow got stuck in exploring Venus, the System would yank him out for the upcoming System Event.[1]

Known Minor Worlds

Yalsten

Yalsten was the Minor World used to host the Treasure Hunt, a System Event for the denizens of Earth in the 93rd Universe. Created as a sanctuary by the space mage Yal, Yalsten was previously home to the Nalkar vampire race created by Sanguine. After Sanguine was killed, the leaders of Yalsten collapsed the entrance to their minor world to prevent the forces of the Holy Church and the Empire of Blight from wiping out the citizens there and protect Sanguine's Blood Legacy.

Yalsten was covered in a thick, vision impairing, cursed mist. Originally summoned through a special kind of curse and intended to sustain vampires, the curse which controlled the mist eventually evolved to hold a "deep and eternal resentment towards vampires".[2] The mist actively damaged living entities.

New Yalsten

New Yalsten is a Minor World housed in a dungeon constructed by Casper using the World Core of Yalsten. Located on a flying meteor in space, it is home to the Risen refugee population that was exiled by the Holy Church during Ell'Hakan's invasion of Earth.[3] The location of New Yalsten is a closely guarded secret.

The Drifting Planes

The Drifting Planes are a collection of minor worlds that exist outside of the regular universes.[4] It is theorized that these minor worlds were at one point a single world that fractured at some unknown point. The Drifting Planes contain unique energies and treasures created by its unique environment. Jewels from the Drifting Planes are particularly valued but are incapable of existing for an existing period out of the plane, even if placed in a storage space, and thus, must be consumed rapidly to gain any benefit. Jasper's B-grade evolution quest tasked him with obtaining one such jewel, the Supreme Jewel of the Drifting Planes.

Venus

Prior to system integration, Venus was an uncolonized and seemingly uninhabited neighboring planet of Earth. Post-integration, it has now become a Minor World. According to the Viper, it is not uncommon for planets to become minor worlds during a system integration and Venus may have been converted due to the high density Records of Earth.[1]

Now a Minor World, Venus has a highly toxic upper atmosphere, testing even Jake's poison resistance. The surface, while not as severely toxic, is still uninhabitable for those without strong resistance to poisons and toxins. Pre-integration, Venus was very hot, but post-integration, it is now a frigid environment, well below freezing temperatures.

Trivia

  • The Divine Realms of gods are considered Minor Worlds. This nature makes it difficult for gods to hide inside of these dimensions as the two Minor Worlds come into conflict for supremacy.[1]
