Yal was once a mighty A-grade space mage, standing at the very threshold of ascendence But time—unyielding and cruel—had begun to tighten its grip.

He sought advancement, power, and permanence. But the path eluded him. Each effort failed. Every ritual, every Natural Treasure consumed in desperation, yielded no breakthrough. He became what he once despised—a desperate mage chasing immortality at any cost.

Yalsten, the paradise he had built, was no longer a beacon of progress—it was a cage.

A gilded prison to shelter his bloodline, a final sanctuary for those he loved. He had ruled long, lived longer, but could feel the end clawing at the edge of his soul. In his desperation, he turned to the forbidden. Ancient rites. Lost paths. Sacrifices.

And then… Sanguine arrived.

Mysterious, regal, and bearing a gift. A curse masquerading as salvation. The Ritual of Blood.

Yal accepted it.

And he changed.

He became vampiric—immortal in flesh, but never again truly whole. In time, he extended the offer to his kin. Then to their servants. Then to the families of those servants. Over decades, vampirism spread like wildfire across Yalsten. Nine out of ten accepted the gift. The rest were either unwilling… or unworthy. Or food.

With his newfound power, Yal ascended to S-grade. Yalsten flourished like never before. Its people, now bound in blood, began producing C-grades in droves. Many left to join the wider universe, proud to represent the House of Yal. Their kings rose to B-grade and even A-grade, elevating the clan into something mythic.

It was an era of glory. It felt eternal. Until the Bloodless Night came.

And everything changed
