Evolution

According to the Malefic Viper, the most common race evolution archetypes are^[2]:

• Find Your Path: The System assigns this to assigns this to anyone whose Path has no clear path of progression. Notably, William Hanson receives this as his C-grade evolution quest and is unable to progress until he realizes that his patron, Eversmile, is intentionally stunting his growth.

"As you reach the end of D-grade, you have walked a Path seeking perfection. A Path of discovery of yourself and what you want to be. Yet you have not found it. Without determination and vision, there is no Path. Without desire, there is no progress. Without willingness, there is no life. Objective: Find your Path (0/1)"^[3]

• Affirm Your Path: Assigned to those who are already doing well to help them reflect on their Path and help them articulate plans for future progress.
• Enact Your Path: The System requires the recipient to do something that is in line with their Path.

The Viper notes that race evolutions quests aren't assigned to anyone who is born at a grade below their natural potential. He uses Sylphie and True Dragons as an example as both are born below their natural B-grade level and will not receive a race evolution quest until they surpass that natural level, as until then, they are simply catching up to where they technically should already be.

As of C-grade, Jake Thayne no longer received race evolution quests with the category marked as Not Applicable. Neither he nor the Viper know exactly why. The Viper advises Jake to never share this information as it might indicate that Jake is some type of never before seen human variant and the knowledge of his variation would send shockwaves throughout the multiverse as every major faction has tried to create a "better" version of the human race at some point but failed. ^[4]
