The System

The System is the multiversal framework introduced during the Integration, governing reality by applying game-like mechanics to all lifeforms. It forms the foundation of progression, survival, and interaction for human, monsters, gods, and countless other beings across the multiverse.

The term is used to refer to whatever is behind stats, skills, bloodlines, professions, classes and titles. It is very mysterious, and is the only thing in all 93 universes capable of directly interacting with someone's truesoul.

Overview

The System activates when a world undergoes the Integration, linking it to the wider multiverse. It enforces universal rules, progression mechanics, and a shared economy, allowing all integrated worlds to interact under the same structure.

The System is impartial, rewarding ingenuity and strength while remaining indifferent to morality. It enforces its own laws but rarely intervenes outside protected areas.

Core Mechanics

Status and Attributes

  • Every sentient being receives a Status Screen displaying:
    • Attributes: Strength, Agility, Endurance, Perception, Intelligence, Willpower, and more.
    • Resource Pools: Health, Mana, and Stamina.
    • Levels: Represents overall progression; increased by earning experience.

Leveling and Grades

  • Levels are gained through:
    • Defeating creatures.
    • Completing System quests.
    • Achieving feats recognized by the System.
  • Major milestones promote beings to new Grades, granting exponential power increases.
  • Progression slows dramatically at higher levels, making advancement increasingly challenging.

Classes and Skills

  • Beings may choose or earn Classes, defining combat style, magic, or specialization.
  • Skills can be:
    • Upgraded naturally.
    • Purchased via the System.
    • Granted through Class or achievement.
  • Skills evolve through usage, and some can mutate into unique or overpowered versions

Events and Tutorials

  • The System organizes large-scale events, such as:
    • Tutorials: High-risk, high-reward survival trials for newcomers.
    • Dungeons: Instanced challenges with rare rewards.
    • Integration Events: World-shaking milestones connecting a planet to the multiverse.
  • These events serve as both testing grounds and population culls, rewarding only those who adapt.

Economy and Trade

  • The System introduces:
    • A universal currency named Credits which is accepted across worlds.
    • System Shops where items, skills, and gear can be purchased.
  • Prices scale with item rarity, Tier, and demand.

Nature of the System

  • The System enforces its own rules (e.g., safe zones, tutorial protections).
  • Beyond protected areas, survival is dictated by strength alone.
  • The true origin and nature of the System remain unknown.

Trivia

  • The System often presents vague skill descriptions to encourage experimentation.
  • Curiosity, ingenuity, and persistence are rewarded as much as combat power.
