Perception includes the usual senses: smell, touch, hearing, taste, and sight. Perception also affects the danger sense of every living creature. It effects their ability to perceive space around them, to detect others nearby, to estimate the power levels of other beings, and, most importantly, determines the strength of intuition.[1]

Trivia

  • Alchemy professions generally don't give much, if any Perception, often resulting in alchemists and mages having relatively low perception. Jake does not receive any Perception points from his profession, but rather grows his Perception solely through investing the free points he receives at each level up.[2]
  • Beastkin, as a race, generally have a high level of Perception.[2]
  • Anyone with a Perception-based build will be a hard counter to those with stealth-based builds or illusion-based Paths.
