The Bloodline of the Primal Hunter is a new and powerful bloodline held by human Jake Thayne who was integrated into the multiverse during the 93rd Universe. Many aspects of The Bloodline of the Primal Hunter are still mysterious, its limits unknown. However, it is already regarded as one of the most powerful bloodlines in the multiverse.

System Description

Bloodline of the Primal Hunter (Bloodline Ability - Unique) – Dormant power lies in the very essence of your being. A unique, innate ability awakened in the Bloodline of Jake Thayne. Grants the Sphere of Perception. Grants an improved sense of danger. Grants access to and allows usage of Primeval Origin Energy (Jake Juice). Enhances all instincts and intuition.[1]

A unique marker of Jake's bloodline is that it evolves with Jake rather than being a flat, set permanent buff:

*Bloodline Ability Evolved*- The evolution has stirred in your bloodline, allowing it to evolve along with you.[2]

Bloodline Abilities

Sphere of Perception - Gives Jake total awareness of his surroundings in a spherical field, the size of which is based off his perception stat. Additionally, his sphere completely ignores illusions.[3]

  • During E-grade, his Sphere of Perception had a radius of ~15 meters.[4]
  • By the end of E-grade, his Sphere of Perception had a radius of ~30 meters.[5]
  • At the beginning of D-grade, his Sphere of Perception had a radius of ~200 meters.[5]
  • At the beginning of C-grade, his Sphere of Perception had a radius of ~250 kilometers.[6]

Danger Sense - Allows Jake to instinctively determine if someone or something poses a threat to his safety. Combined with his Sphere of Perception, this allows him to easily avoid or neutralize many threats. His ability to instinctively recognize when he is in mortal danger led to the creation of the Legendary Skill, Moment of the Primal Hunter.

Instinct - The core of Jake's bloodline is instinct. This provides him with natural combat instincts, making him a formidable fighter even without formal training. Instinct also guides many of his choices outside of combat and, combined with his intuition which filters out false information[3], gives him insight into many aspects of the world at a level that an outsider might describe as precognitive or clairvoyant.

Aura Resistance - Jake's bloodline is centered on the idea that he is The Hunter, always the predator and never the prey. As such his bloodline plays a central role in his interactions with aura. Jake is immune to suppression by higher grade beings, including gods. He can also use his own aura to intimidate and suppress other beings, even those statistically more powerful. This eventually created the Legendary Skill, Gaze of the Apex Hunter, which later evolved into the even more powerful Mythical Skill, Primal Gaze of the Apex Hunter.

Primeval Origin Energy - Allows Jake to affect the Origin of a desired target. This can manifest in several ways, including influencing a being’s Evolution, altering a Skill, or enabling other, as-yet-unexplored applications.

Bloodline Traits

Jake's bloodline:

  • is rooted in being human. He notes that his bloodline expresses a palpable disgust at the idea of becoming something other than human.[7]
  • inherently rejects the idea of being inferior to others or having to recognize the supremacy of others. The Viper notes that it was really difficult to bless Jake because the blessing had to be purely beneficial for Jake without any conditions requiring him to be subservient to his patron. Villy also explains that until Jake's first evolution, his bloodline constantly pushed aggression through his mental connection to the Viper.[8]
  • is extremely heavily perception-based, making Jake a hard counter to anyone whose build is based on illusion or concealment[3]. This includes Umbra, the Mistress of Shadows.

Trivia

  • Both Jake and Villy theorize that Jake had bloodline abilities pre-system integration, but he suppressed them because they made it difficult for Jake to function in an unintegrated universe. Notably, Jake's Aura ability made those around him deeply uneasy, such as his younger brother Caleb who would cry hysterically when Jake looked at him for too long.
  • Jake's bloodline was so thoroughly suppressed that the System did not immediately acknowledge it upon his entry into the tutorial. System acknowledgement only triggered once Jake began actively working with Casper to learn how to instinctively recognize when a projectile was headed his way.
  • Villy and the First Sage both believe that a significant portion of Jake's bloodline abilities are still suppressed because even as of C-grade, his soul is not powerful enough to survive the true scope of his abilities.
  • Jake's Sphere of Perception is one of his most powerful and most frequently used skills. However, he only uses a fraction of its range as his brain is not powerful enough to process all of the information he receives when he deploys his sphere to its maximum range.
  • Jake's Instinct ability is so strong it makes it difficult for him to use tools of chance such as dice or coin flips since he instinctively knows what the result will be.[9]
  • Jake's bloodline and instincts allow him to detect and see through illusions.[3] He can even detect illusions by Eversmile, a master of illusion, as early as F-grade during the tutorials. Multiple times throughout the series, Jake has been able to detect Eversmile attempting to infiltrate or blend into a crowd, even when other gods don't seem to notice his presence.
