Void beings (or Chaos Creatures[1]) existed in the Void. There were also beings that were both divine and profane, like the mysterious nephilim.[1]
Nature
They are immensely powerful that can exert unknown influence on the world that is inherently alien to their nature. It might be the true nature of Corruption, the rot caused by the influence of primordial void's alien nature.[2]
The creatures infected by this rot have an insatiable desire to destroy those not infected, causing them to appear mad and alien. The divine and unholy are inherently opposed, striving to obliterate each other.[2]
Classification
Void Beings are not a monolithic group; they exist on a wide spectrum. At the highest echelons exist beings like:[3]
Trivia
- Sunny believed that gods and void creatures are beyond Ranks and Classes, and they were creatures of a different order. These abyssal horrors were beings from before time, space, death, and other laws that comprised the fabric of reality. They were existences completely alien to reality. They are creatures of great power exerted influence on the world, with saints, powerful Masters, and mystical creatures spreading their influence across vast territories. Voids were undoubtedly immensely powerful.[2]
- A terrible creature was slain by the gods once, and its blood seeped into the ground, becoming true darkness. The place where the creature fell was now known as the Hollow Mountains, beneath which lay the darkness of the Underworld. The creature was a void being, proving that some of them had walked the gods' world after its creation.[2]
- The nature of the sickness of the World Tree (A virulent rot that was slowly consuming it from within) was revealed as not Corruption, but a living being — an Unholy Terror, a malevolent remnant of the Age of Chaos, or perhaps a curse left by a slain Void Creature. Such remnants had escaped the sealing of the Void, and this one proved strong enough to threaten even the avatar of a god.[4]
