The Exploration Report on Everything is a comprehensive research paper authored by Sunny under his alias Nobody. Written during his time in the Dream Realm, the report is considered the most detailed and structured account of existence, covering the history of gods, daemons, the Nightmare Spell, and the realms themselves. It was compiled within a self-made mythical journal and exists in two distinct versions: one containing the complete truth, and another with censored references to the Forgotten God.[1]

Writing the Report

Sunny began his work in the Dark Castle. The journal's sheets were permanent shadows, bound with black thread, and covered in leather made from the hide of a Nightmare Creature he slain from Burned Forest. The ink came from materials scavenged on the Forgotten Shore, and since he was a demigod, everything he crafted was considered mythical. Although he would have preferred typing on a communicator, writing in the waking world was unpleasant, so he wrote by hand. The journal's first page bore the title: The Exploration Report on Everything, by: Nobody.[1]

Motivation and Purpose

While one of his incarnations was occupied in the Palace of Imagination, Sunny found himself with more free time than usual. With Slayer resting in his soul and evolving, he no longer needed to endure weekly battles or recovery from them. During this time, he decided to pursue a long-standing idea — to write a research paper. His goal was not just any paper, but the most comprehensive account of the world's history: its inception, its end, and everything in between. Sunny believed he was uniquely positioned for this task, having knowledge of gods, daemons, the Nine, the Void, the Forgotten God, Weaver, and the Nightmare Spell. Although others, such as the Sovereigns, held pieces of knowledge he lacked, no one else had such a structured and wide-ranging understanding of existence and its main figures.[1]

Sunny's motivation extended beyond curiosity. He believed knowledge should not be hoarded but shared. Unlike the Sovereigns, who guarded their secrets, Sunny felt an obligation to reveal the truth to the world. By making his knowledge accessible, he hoped others with sharp minds could use it to make discoveries and strengthen humanity as a whole. To him, humanity's greatest strength was its ability to accumulate knowledge across generations, leading to exponential growth. Despite his academic career ending abruptly, the spirit of research and exploration remained strong within him.[1]

Contents

The report explained mysteries ranging from the creation and end of the world, the forces governing existence, and the purpose of the Nightmare Spell, to detailed matters such as which powers of the Awakened came from the Awakening itself and which were granted by the Spell, why Nightmare Creatures sought to destroy anything untouched by Corruption, and what the Shadow Realm and afterlife were.[2]

Sunny poured all his knowledge into the report, far more than he had shared in The Exploration Report on the Tomb of Ariel. This time, he included everything he knew: the inception of the world, the gods and their forgotten sibling, the origin of the daemons, the cause and outcome of the gods-daemons conflict, Weaver, and the creation and purpose of the Nightmare Spell. He also wrote about the Seven Divine Realms, detailing how the Dream Realm came to be, how it consumed the mortal realms, how the Nightmare Spell infected the isolated Divine Realms, and how all were eventually swallowed by the Forgotten God — with Earth, the War Realm, as the last. The report was so extensive that even with manifested shadow hands to aid his writing, Sunny's hand still ached from the effort.[1]

Versions

In the end, Sunny produced two versions of the Exploration Report on Everything. The first presented all the knowledge in its unaltered form. The second replaced the name of the Forgotten God with a rune, concealing his identity. This was necessary because most beings could not safely retain the knowledge of the Forgotten God's existence; even mentioning him strained the souls of the living, as the world itself denied his existence. Sunny planned to share the complete version only with those of higher Ranks, while the altered version would be suitable for general distribution.[1]

Trivia

  • Unlike earlier works such as The Exploration Report on the Tomb of Ariel[3], this document sought to consolidate all of Sunny's accumulated knowledge, spanning from the inception of existence to the fate of the mortal and divine realms.[1]
  • After completing his work and traveling to the waking world, Sunny returned to the Awakened Academy. Holding the journal that contained the culmination of his decade-long quest for truth, he prepared to deliver its contents to the public.[1]
