Robert

Robert Thayne is the husband of Debra Thayne and the father of Jake and Caleb. He resides with his family in Skyggen, under the protection of the Court of Shadows, due to Caleb's prominence in the organization. However, he shows minimal interest in developing his Path and even less in the pursuit of godhood. As such, Caleb believes that neither Debra nor Robert will ever reach C-grade due to their lack of motivation. This was later confirmed by Jacob through his skills as an Augur of Hope, when he stated, “They have no desire to reach for power anymore."^[1]

Robert has a warm relationship with his sons and enjoys grilling for family dinners. He encourages Jake to focus on his own Path and role as a Chosen, telling Jake that he should not feel guilty for only visiting sporadically, as his family understands that Jake's Path requires an intensity of focus and they will never hold that against him.
