Pre-integration, Philip was a member of the military. In the chaos of the tutorials and in the early days post-tutorial, Phillip reluctantly filled the desperately needed leadership void. He served as the leader of the fort, both before and after joining Haven. However, he eventually grew weary of the constant burden and his Path progression ground to a halt. During the Myriad Paths event, he changed his profession. He then retired from leadership and became a roaming magic brawler/ security consultant.
During Ell'Hakan's invasion of Earth, Phillip temporarily retook the role of leader to thwart the United City Alliance's attempt to install a puppet leader, but he happily relinquished his authority when Jake and Miranda returned.
Story Summary
Philip was one of the survivors who adapted well during the Tutorial due to his military background. At the end of the Tutorial, he even bought information on Pylons from Tutorial store, including information of the closest Pylon, which unfortunately had already belonged to Jake.
He served as leader of the fort outside Haven's forest for a long while, sheltering stray survivors and defending it from the hordes of Bovine stampede sent by the Minotaur Mindchief, with assistance from Arnold who created g guns, drones, and many other items from Pre-System Earth. However, the stampedes grew worse and the Fort soon overflowed with survivors.
The Fort eventually came to Miranda's attention and she encouraged Jake to visit, with the ultimate goal of integrating the Fort into Haven. During their visit, the Fort was once again assaulted by a stampede, prompting Jake to investigate the cause of the hordes. He was able to successfully defeat the Minotaur Mindchief, free its captives, and defend the Fort with such overwhelming power that Phillip was ultimately persuaded to accept the merging of territories.
Philip spearheaded the integration of the Fort's population with Haven, under the supervision of Miranda. The Fort quickly began to grow into a smithing hub. However, a frustrating encounter with the charismatic but aggressive Sultan, caused Phillip to realize that he was not up to dealing with D-Grades. He requested a demotion from Miranda. He still wanted to work but in a lesser role due to the power gap.
After the Myriad Paths event, Phillip found a new path as a reformed, fist-fighting magic brawler who also moonlighted as an investigator for the World Council. Phillip eventually joined a dungeon party with Neil, Lillian, and two other strong members. They fought a high tier C-grade wolf-like monster. He has powers to enchant himself and summon magic weapons and armor.
