Sunny's shadows are more independent than most. They are his invaluable helpers (See Shadow Control).[1] The shadows are tied to his Aspect and Shadow Cores.[2][3]
Characteristics
Sunny and the shadows
Sunny's shadows, independent or not, were still a part of him. It was a manifestation of his Aspect Ability. They are physically unable to speak and are expressionless.[2] Nevertheless, Sunny can somehow perceive their feelings and emotions. They mostly express some things through gestures.[4]
The shadows were mercurial and fluid, like water. The only constant is the size.[2] His shadows were swift and sneaky and always sensed in which direction to go to return to their master.[5]
Function
Sunny can sense and control his shadows just like his limbs.[2] He can perceive the world through them, allowing him to see and hear things his shadows see and hear.[6]
He was long used to perceiving and comprehending the world from several different viewpoints, requiring him to sort of split his consciousness into multiple streams to control his shadows.[7]
He can also augment himself with his shadows to increase his power, same with his memories and Shadows.[8][3][9]
Using Shadow Step, he was able to travel between his own shadows no matter how far apart they were.[10]

Show/Hide
| Order | Name | Chapter Appeared | Status | Description | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | Gloomy Shadow | 18 | Active | His first shadow was introduced after his First Nightmare.[2] It seemed to be sulking and morose.[12] | |||
| 2nd | Happy Shadow | 351 | Active | His second shadow was introduced after he formed his second Shadow Core. It was a joyful and friendly shadow.[12] | |||
| 3rd | Creepy Shadow
|
527 | Active | His third shadow was introduced after he formed his third Shadow Core. It was just standing motionlessly and staring at him not betraying any hint of emotion. It had always been strangely fascinated by dead things such as the skeleton or carcass of Nightmare Creature.[13][14][15] | |||
| 4th | Haughty Shadow | 702 | Active | The fourth guy somehow managed to appear noble and gallant despite being the exact copy of the gloomy shadow, looking at it with arrogant contempt. The haughty shadow somehow made it seem as if it was looking down at the gloomy one and everyone else. It did not seem impressed even a little bit, as though the very thought of looking away was beneath it.[16] | |||
| 5th | Naughty Shadow | 1091 | Active | The fifth shadow appeared naive and good-natured but resembled the happy shadow too much. Its amicable disposition was just a facade, with a hint of deviousness behind it. The shadow was full of mischief.[17] | |||
| 6th | Crazy Shadow | 1471 | Destroyed[18] | The sixth shadow, unlike the other five, seemed the least eccentric at first glance. It appeared rather normal, laidback and friendly. But Sunny felt a chill run down his spine at the sight of it. It seemed to hide a deep, dark ocean of utter, unhinged, unbridled madness.[19] Details In Chapter 3110, Sunny beheld an imprisoned Unholy Nightmare Creature on the verge of breaking free, but the creature's gaze corrupted one of his Shadow Cores before it impaled and destroyed his incarnation. He had lost a Shadow Core becoming a Terror again. One of his seven shadows, Crazy shadow, had also been destroyed.[20] | |||
| 7th | Lazy Shadow | 2133 | Active | Despite its grand entrance, the seventh shadow exhibited a unique personality. At first glance, it appeared calm, aloof, and nonchalant. However, as Sunny observed further, he realized there was something off about its attitude. Rather than being cold and indifferent, the seventh shadow was simply lazy. It was too idle to care, enjoying its peace and showing little interest in anything, even following orders. It was content, relaxed, and a little sleepy, even finding the act of being annoyed too much effort.[21] Hence, he was called the lazy shadow.[22] The seventh shadow was born in the Shadow Realm after Sunny had slain the shadow of Condemnation.[23] The seventh shadow had an epic origin—it was born in the Realm of Death after slaying an ancient god and immediately striking down the dreadful slayer of the Shadow Realm upon its birth.[21] | |||
| 8th | Eerie Shadow | 3115 | Active |
This shadow appeared far darker than it was supposed to be and carried more than a little bit sinister presence. Born in Shadow Realm, it was even darker than the obsidian dust beneath it. Simply looking at it caused a cold chill to run down Sunny's spine. Instead of obediently mirroring his movements, the shadow lay motionless on the black sand, gazing at Nephis intently.[24] Details The Eerie Shadow is created after he sacrificed thousands of his shades to build a new Shadow Core and reclaim his status as a Titan. Unlike his fallen predecessor (Creepy Shadow), whom Sunny had hoped would return, this new shadow was entirely different. After dismissing the idea of naming it "Creepy Number Two", Sunny settled on the name Eerie, remarking that it suited the shadow's sinister ambiance. In response, the eerie shadow slowly turned its head and stared at him silently. Although all shadows were silent, this shadow's subtle silence was strangely unsettling.[24] |

- The gloomy shadow stayed with Sunny longer because he is his first shadow.[26]
- When Sunny conducted experiments using gloomy shadow with Shadow Step, it acted more petulant and moody than usual. Its mood had only worsened when Sunny tried to repeat the accident a few more times just to make sure.[5]
- The gloomy shadow did not even roll its eyes when it usually received an order and eagerly wrapped itself around Nephis.[27]
- Happy shadow is the only one who can be delighted to oblige to Sunny's commands.[28]
- Noctis was aware of the presence of a hidden shadow without knowing who Sunny was. The great clans were aware of Sunny's abilities and affinity for shadows. Shadow users were rare but not unfamiliar with the Domains, such as Shadow Blade Kurt.[29]
- In Chapter 1471, Sunny mentioned that the gloomy shadow was the true terror among his helpers and would easily tame the crazy shadow after spending one day with the original shadow, ensuring no trouble.
- In Chapter 1485, the shadows started to avoid Covetous Coffer after Sunny altered the [Capacious Chest] enchantment of the Covetous Coffer.
- Sunny altered the [Capacious Chest] enchantment of the Covetous Coffer to store living beings. He borrowed a few elements from the weave of Effie's Supreme Memory but struggled to integrate a livable space into the chest's storage space. The chest lacks meadows, forests, rivers, light, water, and air, making it impossible to place a living being inside. Theoretically, he could hide his shadows in the Covetous Coffer.[30]
