Unlike most shadows, they emanate a clear will, sharp intent, and a solid personality, exuding an aura of cold resolve, savage killing intent, and threatening grace. Sunny perceives them as a "slayer," a ruthless and deadly figure forged by the desolate cruelty of the Shadow Realm.^[4]

The archer is a lethal and resourceful predator who has likely existed in the Shadow Realm for thousands of years, surviving by hunting other shadows and dissolving into pure essence to prolong their existence. Their continued survival in such a hostile environment is a testament to their formidable skill and adaptability.^[4]

Despite the restrictive nature of the Shadow Realm, the archer has proven to be scrappy and ingenious, scavenging the realm for materials to craft deadly implements and preparing cunning traps to ensnare their prey. Their resourcefulness and mastery of their environment make them a dangerous adversary.^[4]

Nature

The archer was not an ordinary shadow. Sunny discovered it to be a unique entity likely born from the shadow of a deceased human, its essence having survived and adapted over centuries within the Shadow Realm. Contrary to expectations, the archer possessed a radiant soul core brimming with actual soul essence rather than a shadow core with shadow essence. This anomaly contrasted starkly with Sunny's own nature, as a human with a shadow-like soul. Also, it only possessed one soul core, which meant that it was a mere Beast.^[2]

While it wasn't a Supreme or Transcendent being, its power hovered between these ranks, suggesting it might once have been Supreme or even Sacred before being eroded over millennia within the Shadow Realm. Nonetheless, it wasn't a Sovereign not only because of their eroded power but also lacked a Domain. Despite its diminished state, the archer's authority over shadows rivaled Sunny's own. Sunny only holds his ground due to his unique status as the Lord of Shadows, which grants him a mandate to rule them.^[2]

The mysterious archer, being a shadow without a living master, falls under Sunny's influence. Exploiting this, Sunny focuses his will to issue direct commands to the archer, such as "Halt", which momentarily disrupts their movements. Though not fully subjugating the archer, his commands manage to constrain their speed and power, leveling the battlefield. Sunny's ability extends to addressing the archer with a barrage of orders though the archer resists most of them with their own formidable will.^[5]

Weapons & Abilities

The mysterious shadow was like a dancer that could use all of its nebulous body as a weapon, making no distinction between its blades, fists, elbows, knees, or feet. Each precise blow was either potentially fatal or meant to open him to a deadly follow-up attack, flowing effortlessly into each other, and with the ghostly smoke obscuring its movements, Sunny could not allow his focus to slip even for an instant.

Unlike Nightmare Creatures, the mysterious archer possessed martial skill and intelligence akin to a human yet also different, possessing a mind that is utterly alien and consumed by a singular intent to kill. Its combat style is a seamless fusion of ferocity and precision, employing every part of its nebulous form as a weapon to deliver relentless and lethal attacks. Each strike flows into the next with calculated efficiency, leaving Sunny on the defensive and unable to gain the upper hand.^[2]

The mysterious shadow of Shadow Realm was a master of archery and ranged combat, utilizing traps, cunning, and meticulous ambush tactics to hunt their prey.^[6]

Black arrows	The black arrows are not enchanted but appear simple and almost makeshift in design. Their shafts are crafted from dark wood, the arrowheads are cut from obsidian, and the fletching is made from crow feathers. Despite their ordinary appearance, the arrows possess a quiet and deadly aura, giving them a mystical presence comparable to that of a Saint.^[7] Each arrow is unexpectedly heavy, suggesting that the materials used in their creation are far from ordinary. Sunny recognizes them as being crafted from materials at least equivalent to those harvested from a Great Nightmare Creature, yet imbued with an even more daunting quality. The shadows cast by the arrows also appear unnervingly threatening.^[7] The arrows are further distinguished by their connection to the killing intent of their creator, the shadow stalker. This intent is etched into the arrows, imbuing them with the creator’s desire to see their prey die. As a result, the arrows carry their own will, making them more than mere weapons and aligning them with the shadow stalker’s predatory purpose.^[7]
Radiant bone arrows	The radiant bone arrows had pristine white fletching imbued with silver essence. These radiant arrows leave a glowing trail of essence and are accompanied by a radiant silver string that allows the archer to launch themselves through the air with unmatched speed and precision.^[4]

The archer was no ordinary shadow—she was a relentless hunter who had roamed the Shadow Realm for thousands of years, defying the natural order by refusing to be annihilated like other shadows. Instead of succumbing to death, she had survived by slaying others of her kind, driven by an unyielding and feral determination. Though her original self-had once been valiant and righteous, the shadow that remained was cold, ruthless, and wicked, shaped by centuries of unending battle. According to Eurys, she was not just any shadow, but one of the Nine.^[9]

History

Exploring Death's Realm

By the end of Sunny's exploration in Shadow Realm, he slain the archer earning him a new Shadow.^[10]

Trivia

It is explicitly stated that the shadow is not one of the Nine, but rather a shadow of an original member. Unlike its original form, the shadow is described as feral and mindless, acting on base instincts without rational thought or higher purpose. The shadow's existence is viewed as an insult to the memory of the original being.^[11]
This shadow was able to hide the scent of it's soul from predators of Shadow Realm.^[12]
