Great Sea Serpent

The Great Sea Serpent is massive with dark orange, almost brown scales.^[3] Jake describes the Serpent's body as being long enough to coil around an entire planet. As the Serpent is encircling the area, Jake's Sphere of Perception, which is capable of seeing hundreds of miles away, senses that the snake's head is still too far away from his body to be seen. The Serpent speaks with a big, booming voice that physically weighs on those that hear it. Only the Jake and the A-Grades present are able to maintain their footing.

The Great Sea Serpent is adept at space magic with the ability to lockdown space and to teleport himself and others.^[3]It has a massively oppressive aura.^[2] Jake describes the Serpent as a top-tier variant, just a single step below a Unique Lifeform. It has a venomous bite that is so powerful that it can damage souls and triggers Jake's Sense of the Malefic Viper with an instinct that even touching the venom would kill Jake.

The Great Sea Serpent has the polymorph ability to shrink down to less than fifty meters long.

The Great Sea Serpent interrupted an attempt by the Venusians and Arachnecs to strong arm Jake into a Soul Contract. He then used his status as the Apex being on the planet to take Jake under his protection, under the pretext of learning more about life outside of the boundary.^[2] He tells the other factions that they will reconvene in a year to decide what to do with Jake. He then teleported Jake to his cavern and gave Jake the opportunity to recover from the soul damage inflicted by the Horned Venusian Warrior.

In discussing why he rescued Jake, the Serpent revealed that he'd received an evolution quest from the System. To evolve to S-Grade, he has to go beyond the boundary, a feat that is as-of-yet, literally impossible due to system restrictions.^[4] However, Jake's arrival indicates that an opportunity will soon reveal itself.

Given the system restrictions on Venus, Jake realizes that the only thing he has to offer the Serpent is a blessing from the Malefic Viper. He touches the Serpent and Villy pulls the snake's soul into his divine realm.^[1] There he encounters the Malefic Viper who compliments the Serpent on his rescue. The few words spoken by the Viper touched the Serpent at the core of his being, giving him a sense of happiness and pride. He then instinctively realized who he was dealing with: The Forefather of Snakes.

The Serpent is awed and eager to do whatever the Viper needs of him. Villy orders him to protect Jake and do whatever the Chosen asks. In exchange, the Serpent will receive a blessing to help him conquer the world and prepare it for whatever Jake plans to do with it.^[1]The Serpent agrees and receives a Divine Blessing.

Along with the blessing, he gains a skill and knowledge about the Order, Records, Paths, and the multiverse in general that helped him understand that the blessing created a fundamental shift in his Path. The Serpent reverently thanks the Viper. He then emerges from the visitation ready to help Jake "conquer this world and bring all its inhabitants under your dominion.”

After Jake's departure, the Viper continues to use the Great Serpent to spread his influence in Venus. He issues blessings to Nomad tribal leaders who came to pay tribute to the Great Serpent. When Jake later needs more combatants for the World of the Exalted Prima event, he and Villy concoct a plan to convince the natives of the Minor World to work with Jake and the rest of the Milky Way Galaxy. With the time constraints they have, the duo decide a ritual to invoke the presence of the Malefic Viper would be the best way to convince the dubious natives of the existence of gods and convince them to join the Order of the Malefic Viper, after which, their first order would be to help Jake secure the Exalted Prima's World Wonder for the Order.^[5]

The Great Serpent is more than happy to protect the Chosen with the understanding that even if the Serpent were to die at the hands of the other tribes, all of their higher up would be wiped out in the future to avenge his death.^[5]

• When trying to decide an adequate reward for the Great Sea Serpent, Jake theorizes that he would be unable to use Primeval Origin Energy on the Serpent to boost an evolution to S-Grade because of the sheer power differential between himself and the Serpent.^[4]
