Slavery and Rise to Power

Reveal

Eurys was infamous for killing a god. He had a long and complex history, beginning as a member of a people who were largely slaughtered, with the survivors enslaved. The slaves from that particular realm were gorgeous, mild-tempered, and exquisitely cultured, making them highly valued by wealthy merchants and nobles of the Empire. Eurys was quite handsome and highly educated, so he fetched a good price—at least, that was what people said about him later, when he became infamous. He was repeatedly sold, eventually becoming an Imperial Slave at the Great Temple of the War Empire, serving the Dragon and his descendants. He was trusted with significant duties and allowed to cultivate his soul, ultimately reaching Transcendence and becoming a personal attendant to the Dragon himself. Despite this, Eurys bided his time and ultimately killed the God Emperor, using the Slaying Blade, an artifact tied to Death. Azarax noted that Eurys was never forthcoming, always scheming and cunning, adept at wielding his Will even before attaining Supreme status, and his methods and exact approach to killing a god remain mysterious. After his actions, Eurys ended up in the Shadow Realm, searching for peace while also awaiting Sunny's rise in power.[1]

Eurys killed a god, specifically the avatar of the War God known as the Dragon, by biding his time while serving as a highly valued Imperial Slave in the Great Temple of the War Empire. He was entrusted with important duties, allowed to cultivate his soul, and eventually became Transcendent, serving the Dragon personally. Eurys then used this position to strike, slitting the God Emperor's throat with the Slaying Blade — the blade of Death. Although the exact method remains mysterious, it is emphasized that Eurys wielded his Will with exceptional skill even before becoming Supreme, and his act relied on exploiting the antithesis of war (life): death. This combination of patience, position, and mastery of Will allowed Eurys, a mere Transcendent, to kill a god.[1]

Sunny noted that if anyone could have stolen a divine relic capable of spilling the golden blood of the gods, it would have been the Nine. Eurys did not simply kill the god with a sudden act; the fatal strike was the culmination of decades of preparation. He had deliberately allowed himself to become enslaved, ingratiated himself with successive masters, and eventually became a palace slave and personal attendant in the Great Temple of War, positioning himself close to the Emperor. The moment he used the blade of Death was therefore the result of a lifetime of servitude, suffering, meticulous planning, and unwavering malice that added deadly weight to Eurys' blade.[2]
Eurys was able to kill the avatar of War God through the opposition between fundamental forces. As Azarax stated, for every force there exists a power that is antithetical to it. In this case, the opposition between Life and Death allowed the deed to occur, with the collision of these forces likened to matter and antimatter resulting in annihilation. The blade of Death, associated with the power of death and with Shadow God, embodied that opposing force, enabling Eurys, a Transcendent, to strike down a Divine being when the opportunity finally came.[2]

As a palace slave and imperial attendant, he was positioned to witness and learn about events in the heart of the empire, functioning as a flawless spy. His act of killing the avatar of War God coincided with the time when the daemons were preparing to rise in rebellion, suggesting his actions played a role in the downfall of the Empire.[2]

Later accounts state that Eurys was already Supreme when Azarax met him, though he never ruled a vast and powerful Domain; rumors claimed that his Domain only encompassed nine people. By the time the Doom War began, Eurys had already completed his personal mission—ensuring the downfall of the Empire and slaying the avatar of War God—after which he joined the Demon Legion and became an ordinary footsoldier.[2]

Eurys' Song

“ One day the gods will fall
And reveal their lie
The one who sleeps will awaken
To devour his children
Oh, and us all
That which was forgotten
Will be remembered
And consume the world
Oh, all of us will dream
The nightmare
Of the Forgotten God…
”

Chapter 750 Home

Eurys was stirring a slender gondola cut from onyx when he noticed that Nephis' shadow seemed to have grown deeper. This is at the same time as Sunny became ascended. He believed that one cannot cross the Underworld and that getting close to its inner border is already a miracle.[3]

Exploring Death's Realm

Sunny's Visit after Throne War

Sunny visited Eurys in a desolate graveyard, fulfilling an old promise and seeking someone to talk to who couldn't walk away. The two exchanged dark humor and reflections on Sunny's rise to power, including his self-inflicted death and the war that crowned Nephis as ruler. Though Eurys understood little, he listened, offering a rare moment of companionship in Sunny.[4]

Sunny continued his recounting of the changes that had reshaped the world after the war. He described how Nephis, with careful planning and strategic alliances, unified the fractured regions of the Dream Realm into a single empire, supported by loyal stewards across the cardinal directions. Despite Eurys' confusion over the names and events, Sunny found comfort in telling his story to someone who couldn't leave — even if that someone had no idea what he was talking about.[5]

Sunny and Nephis' visit

Since Sunny and Nephis were in the Shadow Realm, they decided to visit Eurys in Chapter 3115. (Chapter 3117-)
